We were too quick for OSU

Love the enthusiasm and positivity.

I think our hustle, basketball IQ, offensive rebounding, ball security and their poor shooting were the reason we won. If we bring these the rest of the year, this team will be a tough out. Loved the game on Saturday not so much the Michigan game.

We played harder. Baffles me that we don't get this kind of effort more consistently.
I hear you and for those of us who are fans of our own team, we wonder why they can't play at that level of intensity every game. Fans of OSU are likely questioning their own team's effort against Iowa, and for good reason. I guess the easiest answer is that it's hard to do that every game. If it wasn't so difficult, more teams would be more consistent in this area. It's why the best college coaches get the best consistent effort out of their teams (aside from recruiting talent). Dislike the Badgers a lot, but have to respect consistency which Bo Ryan's teams played with.

For a team fighting to win the B1G, OSU looked pretty sluggish and almost disinterested.

Hustle, hustle, hustle. Two plays stand out to me that help exemplify how this paid off. Both during the first half when the game was hanging around one possession. Two of the big body check blocks by Liddell, one on Pmac and one on Kris. They were big, dramatic, get the crowd on your feet and steal the momentum type of plays. That’s how runs can get started. The result on both? 2 points for the hawks. First was a scrum with Ahron coming up with the ball, foul and two FTs. The second was an easy recovery by Kris, quick pass to his bro for a slam.

It’s not a stretch to imagine games we’ve played in the past when we’re standing and watching when these plays happen and don’t get those buckets, but yesterday we wanted it more.

It all came down to defensive intensity, which carries over into rebounding. This team can beat anyone who doesn’t have a 7’1” aircraft carrier at center.
We've been preaching it all season defense and rebounding. This team has plenty of offense. Great win yesterday.

Really good point.

We play better defense when both Murray’s are in the game and not in foul trouble. Plain and simple. They were the 2 best athletes on the court yesterday.
Thought PMac played a really good game. Kid is a little awkward going to the rim but he's not afraid to go there!

Iowa had to have that win and they played like it. 20 offensive rebounds and won the overall boards battle. Now play like that Tuesday night and it won’t matter how much Izzo whines and complains to the refs. I hope they put a beat down on MSU.
