No real surprise here...A little surprised on the independent thing...whats the point?

Interesting. How so, Ottumwan? How is Webb leaving connected to Biden getting in?this means for sure: biden in
Why go indie?
Well, let's see... if it comes down to Trump vs. Hillary or Bush vs. Hillary, I think there will be an awful lot of folks looking for an alternative... ANY alternative.... and he's squarely in the middle.
I can't really seem him attracting a groundswell of support for an independent run.
he got the word, now there are way toooo many, he's out. plus he got the message at the debate: he and everyone else were to pipe down and shut it. except Hillary. btw I think independent runs are great, I was wishing trump would do it, he still mightInteresting. .....said daddy bush about the little man with the big easel and charts and drawing boards.....Yeah don't get the independent run. . . It's not like he's going to draw a great deal of support from anyone.
Seems like a knee-jerk reaction. But without much support, it's doubtful he will be able to last until the general.Yeah don't get the independent run. . . It's not like he's going to draw a great deal of support from anyone.
I think it will be Hillary and Rubio. Bush seems to keep losing ground and Trump is slapping him around quite a lot these days showing that Jeb can easily be baited into trivial school ground fights. Jeb also seems to have trouble not stepping in it with offensive remarks. Rubio is fresh, clean cut, and has few skeletons in his closet. Course, Rubio has never been the leader, so we don't know if he can handle that role, and he is definitely no Obama in being able to inspire people to support him.I wanted to like him, but he is just too much into the old way of thinking about war and arms, etc. No thanks.
This is a depressing election. Absolutely no one I feel good about. I think Sanders has integrity, but expanding SS and entitlement programs? Come on. Hillary might as well wear a Goldman Sachs sticker....I like Lessig for the point he brings up, but he isnt really a full candidate.
Of course, the Republicans are insane. I still believe Jeb will be their boy when the dust settles.
A Hillary-Jeb election is pathetic.
He doesn't get any attention now. Independent gets him less attention.I can't really seem him attracting a groundswell of support for an independent run.

Of your objections to the current crop, consider this: what's the harm in expanding SS and such if we raise the revenues to pay for it?I wanted to like him, but he is just too much into the old way of thinking about war and arms, etc. No thanks.

At this point, Rubio has a better chance than Bush. Bush may have topped out already. If Rubio is tied with Jeb, yet still somewhat unknown, it means he has a much higher ceiling. He could cost Hillary Virginia, thats about it.
I find this whole coming election depressing in the extreme. I find the stupidity of our electorate overwhelming. I don't mean from an ideological sense. I mean voting because someone is taller or because someone is a woman, etc. etc. etc.
I simply will not vote for Hillary unless the Repubs actually nominate someone like Carson. Hillary vs Jeb? Flip a coin. Rubio has no chance. Hillary would lay a massive beating on him. No one even knows who he is.
I cannot either. He will have to be the candidate of one of the minor parties. In the Democratic party there used to be many moderates like him. Now days, he is almost alone on that side of isle.I can't really seem him attracting a groundswell of support for an independent run.

My point being that the problems you raise regarding the others are more serious. About the best Bernie would be able to get on SS - even assuming a cooperative Congress - would be to raise the cap by a modest amount and maybe switch to a more reasonable CPI calculation for senior benefits. I would see those as good baby steps and maybe you wouldn't. But it's hard for me to imagine you'd get bent out of shape by them.
There is just no need to. None at all.
Now a single payer health system I can support.
Bush is performing about as well as John Kerry was at this point in the 2004 race - and we know how that turned out. Depending on who rises to the top, Bush could experience a similar resuscitation. At this point, Rubio has a better chance than Bush. Bush may have topped out already. I freely admit, I'm basing most of my argument off of the online prediction markets. They have Rubio becoming the nominee. That said, this is just a recent shift. Bush was leading before. And we really have no idea how Rubio will handle being the leader, if it gets to that point. He could do wonderfully, or he could fold. But his upside seems a lot better than Bush's. Now whether he can tap into that upside remains to be seen.Bush is performing about as well as John Kerry was at this point in the 2004 race - and we know how that turned out. The MSM will have fun with the outliers for a while, but then they'll step in. Fox already did that with Fiorina to make sure she was in the mix, and I suspect there will be some moves to thin the herd after the next debate or 2, but it's still too early for the MSM to decide the top couple of players.
Bush
Rubio
Kasich
Fiorina
Cruz
Those will be the final 5 (assuming one of them doesn't have some disastrous melt-down). At that point, if there is no clear standout that's acceptable to the MSM, Bush may start to surge.
I don't think he could attract flies if you covered him with rotted meat.I can't really seem him attracting a groundswell of support for an independent run.
That's a way of saying "goodbye, but don't forget me!"No real surprise here...A little surprised on the independent thing...whats the point?

Rubio has had 2 solid debate performances. Bush has not impressed in either. But Rubio only has to show up drunk once to stumble badly.I freely admit, I'm basing most of my argument off of the online prediction markets. They have Rubio becoming the nominee.
