How do Ohio St and Michigan still rate that high? Not asking the OP, just wondering. I Iowa were having the year that those two are it feels like we wouldn't even be on the bubble yet.
Mostly metrics. Very strong numbers right now but Dave would even say the general rule has been you have to finish 4 games over .500 to have a chance at an at large. That and the bubble is weak for about a fifth straight year.

Would love to see Penn State lose @Nebby, so they stop stinking up that 3rd place slot. Iowa battling Illinois for sole* possession of 3rd place at this point in the season, given all this team has been through? I'll take it.

*Rutgers losing would be ok too, they could easily slide below 3rd eventually anyway given their schedule the rest of the way.

It’s body of work, not how you are playing lately. Ohio St really doesn’t have any bad losses, and have some great wins in the non con. Same for Michigan. If we had the same resume we would still be there as well. It’s not random.

Michigan still gets to claim the only win over Zaga. But they both still to stop the bleeding.

No real chances for any bad losses left on the schedule besides Nebraska, and they aren’t beating us at home. Beat the Illini at home (not easy) get to 7-4 and I see us at 11-9, 12-8 in the league. I think that resume would be a 5-6 seed.

Bucky laying the wood to Team Izzo. Izzo is surprisingly calm today.
Thankfully we don't have to visit the Kohl Center this year. Fran's house of horrors.

Watching MSU/Pissconsin now.

I want Sparty to lose but I don't want Bucky to win.

Uggggh.
We're already 1-0 against Wisconsin, and losing King is going to kill them later in the year as the grind continues... I think it's clear we want Wisconsin to win for any chance at a conference title.

MSU and Indiana both stink right now. Bet when we get them they don't play like that

Down to 3. Sparty probably wins this but I can't lose. If Sparty loses they lose a game to the field and if Bucky loses they are 1 step closer to the NIT.

My take on MSU, Wisky, OSU and IU (largely based on today)

Wisky- solid team, Rievers is really good as is their PG, not much else, but good role players. we were fortunate to escape with a win as they normally dont beat themselves
MSU - Underwhelming. Seem to have big bodies but not as skilled as i thought. could be road blues.
OSU - not a team i would want to run into in the tourney, some very good pieces.
IU - Hard to figure out. Seem like a tourney team that is still growing/finding themselves. No easy W for us.

msu stinking it up again at about the 10 minute mark now. tillman misses two layups in a row and has a defensive lapse to essentially cost them 6 points himself.
sparty is a good team relative to the rest of men's cbb this year, but they're far from great.

Wisconsin, without King or Davison, hangs on to win by one. That helps Iowa, so that's good.

MSU is no juggernaut on the road, so I still believe 14-6 could get a share of the Big Ten title if not win it outright. Hawks still in the thick of it. Knock off the hated Illini and go from there.

We caught a huge break barely winning at home vs Wisconsin and not having to play at Wisconsin. I hate it but they are tough at home.

Iowa could have 8 quad one wins by the end of tomorrow if Michigan ends up winning this one by double digits..

This is good and I would add my take is best pointed out by Shon Morris who said a few weeks back "It's about who you play, where you play them and how you did?"

And then found this interesting what War Hawkeye posted yesterday in the Lounge....

"Iowa has played 6 games against B1G teams who were ranked at the time of their matchup.

Michigan St (1), Maryland (2), and Illinois (3) combined have played 6.

Illinois’s next 5 games are all against currently ranked teams. Huge game Sunday"

Again...."It's about who you play, where you play them and how you did?"
