Wegher signs with Carolina Panthers

Shouldn't this be posted on the Morningside board?

Yes, I'm sure there's a great opportunity for a 26 year old rookie RB in the NFL. He'll probably expect preferential treatment again and then choose to leave camp when he doesn't get it.

More like 23-24, but who's counting....

So he's a quitter that quit my beloved Hawkeyes 5+ years ago, and Western Iowa hawkeye fans are still blabbing about him. If Willies vanished for 5 years and didn't get drafted, I doubt there would be a thread about it. Western Iowa wanted Wegher to be the next Dwight/Banks so badly that they are still talking about the ghost of Wegher's talent to this day.

And I also just found out that Wegher's younger brother is going to school in Florida for football exposure. LOL

I would suggest that you 1.) Get your facts straight, and 2.) Grow up & start walking your talk.

BTW, when you talk about "west of I-35 & north of I-80", are you referring to the area that has produced the most high school football championships in all classes except maybe 4A (unless you'd put the WDM schools in that group....geographically, you could)???

The two most replies and views on this board (in the top ten) center around Wegher and Willies. What's that say about Iowa Football fans.

Sometimes young men have to go to the bottom to see the top.I've been there..
If you or a family member every go through this its a very painful path.
Getting back to the top is a very difficult process and I will give BW and his family a lot of credit.

He has finished--or will soon finish--his undergraduate education. He had a ridiculously successful epilogue to his CFB career at M-side. He has a legitimate shot at a career in the NFL; either with the Panthers or someone else. He's engaged to what seems like a great girl (I've read plenty on how she's done at USD, both academically and athletically) and the mother of his son. I think he--and Megan--both have plenty of guts.
