Well, Duke lost at home

SFA is a high quality mid major program.

They showed a ton of grit, especially when they couldn’t make anything in OT. Two consecutive shot clock violations on Duke. That’s some serious defense.

College Basketball is wide open this year. Going to be a fun year of watching and a lot of head scratching come bracket time.

Just watched the highlights. SFA has some awesome guards and athletes.

bad TO by Duke to lead to breakaway layup GW

Nothing original here, but it's a guard's game. Heard this mentioned on every game I watched yesterday (paraphrasing) 'You have to make defenses chase either through ball movement or dribble penetration. Going east-west is too easy to switch'. Pretty much summarizes Iowa's issues IMO. Also resulted in UNI losing a 15-point lead WVU last night.

They are, but Rutgers beat SFA.
SFA is athletic and a guard dominated team. Duke is young and talented but relies on outscoring opponents. Duke's typical defense we are used to seeing is not there yet. Rutgers has to rely on its defense to stop SFA. Rutgers has guards to match SFA. SFA couldn't get into the paint as often as they like. In fact, SFA struggled from the 3 (2-13). SFA said Rutgers' defense was the best any team had displayed again his team in some time. Bottom line, games are about matchups. SFA matched up well against Duke because they pressured teams into unforced errors. Teams that pressure others don't like to be pressured and that's what Rutgers did with their guards.

24-40 at the line and 22 turnovers pretty much sums up that game.

I take it that Duke's guards are crap compared to Rutgers. Did Coach K fall asleep on recruiting?;)
Duke's guard are way better than Rutgers, Duke's guard are young. I think Duke underestimated SFA. SFA is a seasoned team and took advantage of the situation. Rutgers was locked in against SFA after they got a wakeup call from the Bonnies.

Would love to see what Ben McCollum would do at Iowa. Storm Lake Iowa native has been killing it in Maryville. Won 2 of last 3 D2 Nattys and is ranked #1 again this year. He will get his chance somewhere.
