Well, it finally happened

Nope. Here's what HOA Prez posted in the thread...definitely used ChatGPT (and it's 100% TL;DR)

I’d like to take a moment to address some concerns and clarify a few things about the private group’s purpose I started and how we should navigate different perspectives.

In the recent past, I was approached—yes, even yelled at in a parking lot—by someone in the private group who felt I should censor certain posts by others in this private group of a political nature. Let me reiterate what I’ve said before: we are adults. My role as an admin for this private group is not to police opinions or dictate what you can and cannot share, as long as posts adhere to the law and our group rules.

This is a space where everyone is welcome to express themselves. If you want to share a political meme, celebrate an election result, or post something that reflects your political views, that is entirely your right. Some will agree, and others may not—that’s the nature of free expression in a diverse community such as ours.

That said, humor is important for all of us. Life can be stressful, and sometimes a funny meme or lighthearted post can provide the laugh we all need. Let’s try not to take everything to heart or let differing opinions ruin the sense of community we’ve built here. A little humor and perspective go a long way!

I also ask that everyone keep the group rules in mind:

1. Be Kind and Courteous: Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required. Personal attacks and unkindness won’t be tolerated.
2. Respect Everyone’s Privacy: What’s shared in this group should stay in this group.
3. No Hate Speech or Bullying: Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed. Degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or identity will not be tolerated.
4. No Excessive Promotions or Spam: Give more than you take. Members may post one business-related advertisement per day.
5. Discussion Posts or Member Removal: Admins reserve the right to remove posts and members as necessary to maintain harmony.
6. Private Group Rules: Rules may be updated by admins without prior notice.

We can disagree without being disrespectful, and we can engage in discussions without turning to personal attacks or accusations. This group is here to bring us together as a community, not tear us apart.

If anyone has questions or concerns about what’s appropriate to post or how to engage with others, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you all for being part of this group and helping us maintain a space where everyone feels welcome, respected, and maybe even entertained with a good laugh now and then.
Good grief. Who needs this?

I live in a regular neighborhood, No HOA and I truly have no idea on the political leanings of any of my neighbors, Even the one guy a ways up the street took down his F Biden flag.

Collegiate allegiance flags are about the extent of affiliation you see on my loop.

A neighbor posted something political in our neighborhood FB group—a place that’s been pretty peaceful for nearly 11 years. The only previous keyboard fight was when the HOA raised our dues.

And yes, it’s going exactly as you’d expect: a live, non-anonymous version of HBOT. I chimed in with this meme and then kindly exited.

Soz about the maga trash in your neighborhood op. Look on the bright side, at least they’ve self identified!

This morning's quote:

I love the guy. You can dismiss his service and say he’s just a TV Host, but unfortunately for you all it shows is your lack of information and ignorance of his abilities, knowledge and of what it actually takes to do the job. Maybe try watching a different source of news. CNN isn’t really known for being accurate. Our last/former Secretary of Defense was a joke and a disgrace to the country. Pete is a door kicker who doesn’t want to kick in doors unless we need to. The military is supposed to have one purpose and that is lethality. It’s not supposed to be a reservoir of feelings and emotions, special interest groups or a home for activism. The purpose of the military is to break things that need to be broken.

“If we have to fight, we will use overwhelming force to close with and destroy the enemy and brings our boys home. “.

This guy sounds like a dimwit.

I see no rule about nudity.

You know what must be done.

I see similar stuff on Nextdoor. It's wild seeing people call each other out with real names and addresses. "Screw you commie Kathy Smith of 1776 Bass Bay Drive!! I hate your rainbow house flag too!"

If you want to weep for the future, you should check out college parent Facebook groups. These young adults have no chance with the clueless helicopter parents that they apparently have.

Example: Is <college> sending a shuttle or drivers to pick up any student who comes into the xxx airport tonight?

Airport is an hour away from campus. Who sends their kid to an airport an hour away from their destination without first having a plan to get them the final leg of their trip prior to the day of?

Or: My son needs to pay a parking ticket. Where does he pay that and how does he know how much it is?
