"I actually appreciate the fact that slavery has been a largely accepted institution up until the time that it no longer needed to exist. Know why? Because if not for the practice of slavery, the civilizations that led to our even being able to have this conversation would not have ever existed in such a way. And yet, I can commiserate with the plight of the slave....assuming that the slave wasn't happy with his position, which many were."

I think it's a good reminder to the people today flying confederate flags, and complaining about illegal immigrants, and BLM, and replacement theory, that the original people who 160 years ago were inventing and flying that confederate flag were the actual ones practicing replacement theory by bringing in the black immigrant "illegals."

Clearly, this guy can’t wait to vote for Kamala.

What in the OP's quote is a statement of fact?
Maybe I am misinterpreting his reply, but I think he was calling for some facts since everything in that post was about someone’s feelings.

I’m not sure if it’s an actual fact that the institution of slavery was “widely accepted.” It has definitely been widely practiced throughout history, but I don’t know if you could assert as fact that it was widely accepted.

Anyway, that’s about the only part of his post that might have played footsie with something in a similar galaxy as a fact. Although perhaps it’s factual the majority of slaves were happy with “their position.”

🤔

Ah, that makes more sense. Apologies, if that's the case, @Bulldogs1974

Nothing. I’m just assuming there will be a lot of feelings vs actual factual statements in this thread. Slavery bad. Sad face. None of you would have batted an eye at a slave in 300 bc.
There can be little to no doubt the speed at which human society and innovation took place, could not be achieved without forced labor at some point.

People, including slaves have always acquiesced to their circumstances. That didn't mean they were happy or content. Slaves or people in servitude in most cases didn't have choice or option. Christ, the propaganda from the right is out the 1950s. Rebroadcast of Jim Crowe.

On this board the second paragraph would be about how totally unqualified Kamala Harris is and you have to stand up for something in life and vote accordingly. The third paragraph would be about how as a middle aged white guy your life has been destroyed by DEI, and a trans kid three states away from you feeling good about themselves.

Do you see the irony in the democrats support for immigration as cheap labor?

People...AMERICANS...that believe that pile of excrement posted - are alive and walking amongst us yet today.

Yet another in a long list of reasons why I hate people.

I think I can clear this up guys. Dude who is quoted is a racist clown. Slavery was reprehensible, but it is part of our story as a country. It’s hard to say where we would be right now with or without slavery. It happened. I often reflect on my life so far and the choices I made that got me here. Life is crazy random. If you would have told me 10 years ago I’d be living in Treasure Island, FL with a beautiful wife I’m crazy about I’d say you’re nuts. Life is a journey, and we are all on a crazy random ride.

Well, this country had slavery so I think we know where we are as a country.

Don't forget, dems wanted slaves, it was the republicans who fought to free them. The current form of immigration is just a modern form of slavery.
There you go again proving you are by far the dumbest person on this board

How do you explain innovation taking place since the end of slavery. I don't remember the US entering the dark ages after slavery ended.
