What if Keegan comes back?

I know it probably won't happen and there's probably a better chance we lose both twins than both come back.

But its hard not to think how ridiculously good this team would be next year.

Would be the best Hawkeye team since 80s.
Trading Bohannon and CMac for Dix and Bowen. As long as those newcomers can shoot the 3 well that is really a plus as defensively Dix and Bowen are more athletic.

With or without Keegan I'd still love for Iowa to have a Reggie Evans type big that owns the glass. Defensive rebounding is still a concern and having that would only fuel our fast break offense.

The depth on that team would be ridiculous. Not sure you would rely on Dix heavily for minutes. But a four person rotating backcourt of senior Toussaint, junior Ulis, junior Perkins, and Bowen sounds pretty fun

He's not, end of story. He'd be stupid if he did. One less year making millions...

I don't know that it's out of the realm of possibilities. The NBA will still be there for him after another year and it's a grind. Staying another year in college while collecting some nice NIL money with a chance to play for a B1G Championship with your brother? Doesn't sound like a bad deal to me.

Ogundule could fill that role. He’s putting up really good rebounding numbers in short minutes. 5 in 15 minutes last night.

Where would he transfer to?

Exactly - "end of story" typically is in conjunction with "nuff said", or something similar, to cement the "fact" that someone knows the answer and nobody can argue it. My brother does this regularly. 😆
It's painfully obvious. He's already old for the draft. If he waits it will only hurt him, if you think otherwise you're living in lala land. Waste of time wishing, he's gone, enjoy him while he's here. Nuff said

Him and Kris can just buy more memories playing together for the same team their father did.

Oh wait....
Lol they made the memories. Is he going to jeopardize a career for a couple more memories? They can make more memories in the NBA. I get it, I wish he was staying too, but he's not. You're just getting your hopes up needlessly. If someone was projected to go in the first round and they stayed another year in college they'd be incredibly stupid. Look at wieskamp, not even a first rounder and even he had common sense that he was getting too old. Look at the ages of the top draft picks... He gone

Joe also left with a degree and had no family ties

I think he will have a monster season and leave for the NBA as a lottery pick. Then Kris will do the same after next season.

You have officially earned the rank of Captain obvious.

If there are millions on the table with the chance for $0 if you get injured, you go to the NBA.

Don't think Keegan will go this season. In part, he literally has black and gold DNA. In part I think he wants to play another season with Kris. In part I think he will need two big seasons to be a high pick and hit the real motherload.

He's projected at 1st round, 10th overall in the latest draft predictions I've seen.

No idea what his decision will be but he won't be coming back to up his stock. He'll be a lottery pick after this season.

Makes you wonder if Kris got half of Connors minutes last year, if he would be playing thru contact as well as Keegan. They would be really tough this year. Just like Joe, I'd like to see Keegan get more distance and accuracy on this three point shot before going pro. We'll see what happens by the end of this year.

I agree that we wouldn’t have to rely heavily on Josh Dix for minutes…..but I think this kid is really good…vastly under rated.

It’s often said that college basketball is a guards game…. And the Hawks should be deep, talented, and experienced in the guard court.

Let’s see what Keegan does in B1G this year before assuming he’s going to NBA…

Also wondering if leaving early for the NBA at this age is what Keegan wants to do…?

Leaving for the NBA is literally the reason why all of these kids are playing.

Lol neither are leaving or going pro after this season.

So go ahead and get excited about next year, I guess........

At this age? They’re 21 already. They took a year in between HS and college at an academy to improve their skills, they’re basically juniors this yr age wise

That's why returning players take out insurance policies, protecting themselves from serious injuries.

I seem to be almost alone on this matter, but it wouldn't surprise me if Keegan decided to come back for another year. His parents get to see almost all his games, he most likely has decent living arrangements including occasionally Mom's home cooking, and he and his brother are big fish in a small pond. Yeah, he could have a fat bank account, but there is the endless travel and he may wind up on someone's bench being a cheerleader. Another year playing with his brother might not be the worst thing in the world.

Just curious, but what was Kofi projected at last year before he decided to come back?

I said pretty much the same.

That was most obvious screw up by Fran last year---playing CMAC as undersized PF/4h guard. Keegan should have started and Kris could have split time. Refs were really picking in Keegan last year, so there were pleny ot games where Keegan had to sit with foul trouble and Kris never got a chance.

If Keegan is top10 pick and would get guaranteed money, he should take the money and the NBA glory

The Keegan you are seeing now is not the same player as the Keegan of last year. Also, what Connor brought to the team last year is arguable the weakest part of Keegan's game - passing, especially to the post. Kris was not ready in 2020. He is now. It's called development.
