Freakin Iowa
what if Keegan and Kris Murray both had triplets at the same time...
and they all grew up to be basketball players..
and they all came to Iowa
and they were all the best players on the team
and Keegan and Kris were the coaches.

that would have to be a very uncomfortable situation for those of you who hate the head coach (football and basketball) and their entire family.

would it not?

The what if game can be played after every game or season, what if Tom Davis had called off the dogs during the game against UNLV in 1986 and actually played good defense instead of pressing and allowing easy baskets to UNLV in the second half. Iowa might have end up National Champions.
But that's not how it end up.

What if Penbrook Burroughs III hadn't scored at the buzzer, eliminating the '70's team and driving Ralph Miller away? How many championships lost? What if Ronnie hadn't gotten hurt at Dayton and then again at the beginning of the semi-final game against Louisville? Another National Championship lost? What if Raveling would have stayed at Iowa, recruiting the hell out of the country and hiring a coach that could actually put game plans together and help him as a in-game coach? How many championship might we have seen? What if Chris Street isn't killed? What if Thompson could have remained eligible? Recker not gotten hurt? What if Brunner doesn't miss the second FT and puts us up 64-61 against NW St.? Our entire back court trying to play injured against Oregon?

Good points Ronman. Its funny, just like football that as hungry as we've ALL been for the brass ring in both sports, we've been oh so close to our shot many times in our lives. i guess that makes it all the more frustrating though......
