What is dry cleaning?

The ground underneath long time dry cleaning establishments is absolute poison. Massive plumes of contamination.
Right up there with gas stations and oil change establishments.

You're not a poor if you don't know what dry cleaning is; because almost nobody knows.

However, you are likely a poor if you've never used drycleaners. I mean, do you not own a suit or blazer?
I do not. I'm a redneck farm kid.

When I was a young wife at home with a baby I washed and ironed my husband’s dress shirts, using spray starch on the collar and sleeves. Set up the ironing board in front of the TV and watched General Hospital. 😂
When he started climbing the old corporate ladder and my kids started school I went to work and just took them to the dry cleaners, where they get laundered, starched, and pressed, not dry cleaned like suits are. Some of my work clothing went regularly as well.
With a strong shift to business casual I think fewer things need dry cleaning. Of course many of you guys still like your khakis to have that sharp crease.
You don’t wear Khaki’s with a crease anymore down the middle of the pant, that’s old school. It’s all side press now with a clean front on the slacks as the legs are more narrow with flat pockets as well.

That’s awesome you ironed the shirts and used starch. I hate doing it or asking my wife to do it unless it’s a touch up before we go out or a work event. I just drop off the shirts at the cleaners to be cleaned and pressed with light starch so I can wear them tucked or untucked depending on the evebt being formal or casual.

I have never done that. I have only seen it on TV or movies. what does that mean and why do people do it? Am I a poor?
Other than much more expensive than regular laundry, I’m not sure.
I’ve only ever had 2-3 items dry cleaned (2 are cashmere hoodies and one was a nicer pair of pants).
I think it’s for more delicate clothes but not sure.

Do people never dress up anymore? Just dropped 4 suits and 6 shirts off for dry cleaning today. Some of you need to step up your game.
Someone has to be the boss. LFG!

I’m a sucker for cool sports jackets that you can wear with just about anything in a casual, business, or formal event. I look for them all the time when traveling gif work or personal.

I'd rather wear a tie than a blazer in Florida. Too hot for the jacket.

Likewise. Dressing the part and looking sharp doing it feels good. I’m surprised at the lack of interest in it. Whatevs.

If you hate paying for dry cleaning and you hate to iron. Just put your collared shirts in the bathroom. After a couple war showers, the steam will take out the wrinkless.

Your welcome poors (I do this sometimes), so yes, I'm a poor.

I love these end of season sales by Pete Millar, Travis Martin, Tommy Bahama, and a few others. Scored great sports jackets and leather jacket for 50 to 70% off normal price. Got a $1300 PM sports coat for $500.00. Leather jacket from TB for $350.00. I’m a clothes whore.
