Considering Bollers athletic upside, which by most accounts is through the stratosphere, where will he play for Iowa. Of course, I'm treating his college commitment to Iowa as a forgone conclusion. Iowa and other programs are recruiting him as a DE, but it looks like he could be a DE or a TE as he is a WR/TE for the Clippers on offense. Is he good enough to play at TE with the incredible athletic ability of a Noah Fant, or will he stay on D? No question he is very talented. If he continues to grow He could get too big for TE and end up at DT even. He is already a very legit 6'4" 225. Rumor has it he has actually committed to Iowa, but no confirmation on this. Hell of a way to start off Swarm21!

I’ve heard it’s pretty much a lock..
Good lord man ... I'm already notorious for looking ahead towards future Hawkeye rosters. Are you trying to get me further excited about the future of our Hawks? It's bad enough that I've been charting out how things will look in 2020 ... you're trying to get me to start speculating about 2022 and beyond?!

I was thinkin' the same thing...in three years will he be 6-7, 225, or remain 6-4, and weigh 305? Most of all, which position does he like best?

If he's anything like his dad he won't have trouble putting on muscle. Trevor thinks his own NFL career was cut short because he got too big and it was hard on his knees. I honestly don't know where TJ's height comes from considering his parents.

I talked to his Dad 3 weeks ago at a baseball tournament. By the way the he is the nicest guy you will ever meet! Wow he coaches his younger sons baseball team and he is the most positive coach i have ever been around. I congratulated him on his sons scholarship to IOWA he said thank you thank you very much. Told me he is different than him he loves defense loves to hit people! Before i walked away i said GO HAWKS He said Yes Sir. Then he said quietly Iowa St. Was his first offer !!! Then he said he has alot of high school football left. In no hurry to commit anywhere!!! If you havent met Trevor Bollers if you get the chance dont pass it up!!! Thats all just thought i would share. Go Hawks

Thanks for the inside take. Good to hear the kid has a solid foundation and friendly. He does have 3 entire years left to play football in high school which is alot. Should be a blue clipper, I mean chipper, by the time hes headed to Iowa.

I'm leaning toward him playing the position he is being recruited at, but with 3 years left he could have some huge receiving years at TE and possibly be 6'6" or more. Wait and see.

I'd believe that the coaches will let him work at the position he feels most comfortable at first ... and they'd play it by ear from there .... based on the progress he makes through his development. However, we need to land him first. Otherwise, we're putting the cart before the horse.
