http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2016/2/11/10975958/watch-tom-crean-stretchAll IU has to do is win and they win the league out right. If the line is even or Iowa is favored, I would suggest everyone putting their life savings on the great Tom Crean..
Fran needs to come out and get tossed in the first 5 minutes of the game like Calipari did last week. The players need to have a fire lit under them and that will certainly shake things up.
People on here talk about how bad it's going to be next year with the lack of experience. Problem with that theory right now is that this is not an experienced team. They are playing like an inexperienced team. If you didn't know what class our players are would you think we have 4 seniors and a junior with the way they are playing right now. This was not a well played game from an Ohio State. An experienced team would have taken full advantage of that.Honesrly, who cares? Squandered away a golden opportunity. Did not see that coming with this senior laden team. 37 years and counting. I am beyond frustrated. So disappointed. Being an iowa fan is hard sometimes.
On senior night? If I were Fran I would bench all the seniors and start the bench. Who cares at this point, give them the rest they need. Apparently they are "tired" and worn out. Give them a break and just blow this game off.
On senior night?
My bad I missed the "tired" and worn out statement and didn't read into that.It was meant to be sarcastic. Sorry.
Now what do you really think? Will you watch and cheer or just go through the motions and then bitch the night away about every little thing??Do they show up and just go through the motions?
Do they show up and just go through the motions?
Its up the players now. They have to learn to play together and get their heads out of their @sses. Iowa made their living off of teams struggling to score points against them. Those teams were just missing open shots. Now teams are hitting them and Iowa can't get a defensive stop.
If Fran plays the 2-3 zone it will be a run away for IU. Iowa will get curb stomped at home. He has to play man to man and not allow IU's guards to shoot the 3.
Sadly I think it will be:
Indiana 86
Iowa 71
I think the hawks battle tough, but both Jok & Utoff are no shows. Gessell, Woody play well in their final game at Carver.
If Crean stays with the same defensive strategy that he used against Iowa in the first game the Hoosiers will win. They really didn't guard Gesell. Put Williams on Clemmons and begged him to shoot over Williams. Got physical with both Uthoff and Jok. Begged Iowa to throw the ball in the post to Woodbury but Iowa won't do it. Sag off of Gesell and Clemmons and even double off of them when Uthoff gets the ball in the post. Penn State used this blue print right after Iowa played Indiana. I know they had to see Indiana play this strategy so well. This is the blue print right now to beat Iowa and Fran has zero answer for it. He tried so many different lineups today which was nice to see but it seemed liked he doesn't have any real rhyme or reason to these lineups.I think Iowa wins, despite the past few games for you guys. Too much pride, it's senior night, and in our only true road tests so far (Duke and Michigan State), IU was slaughtered. I do think the quick turnaround after the OSU game will be tough for you guys, but I really don't think IU will beat you guys. IU does have several more days rest, but that hasn't ever proven to be an advantage under Crean's leadership. Just like you guys are down on Fran, we've been down on Crean for quite a while. I'm expecting a dog fight.
However, I do think we win on Sunday at home against Maryland. I'm not terribly impressed by them, and IU is undefeated at home so far this year. Famous last words.
I know it's easy for me to say, but keep your heads up. We went through a stretch like this earlier in the year (in Maui), and I know how bad it sucks right now. You guys still have time to right the ship, and you've got the team and talent to do it. If enjoyed watching you guys this year. And I don't think you're done yet.

Thanks wiede for the kind post. As you can tell it's pretty much melt down mode over here. I think being ranked as high as #3 and being 10-1 in conference had us feeling this team was special. I'm in the camp that thinks we still have a good team but our shots stopped dropping and our opponents can't seem to miss. I believe the odds are in our favor that will change as long as the team continues to play hard. I don't think we're done yet either.I think Iowa wins, despite the past few games for you guys. I am not posting a rebuttal to be negative because I feel bad for these players. There's no way this does not hurt. Your intuition is exactly the way I felt in 2014 and it never came back.
People are just losing their minds in our fan base because they started expecting great things before the season had even played out. We played way above the mean early but now it's evening out. The problem is the team is mentally wrecked so it does not come back this season.
