What's wrong with the Cy(clowns)?

The team that hung with Michigan is bad? Team that just stomped ranked Seton Hall is bad? Just because Iowa is good, doesn't mean every team is bad. Good God, enjoy it .

That Seton Hall win end up being just ok for them. Probably a quad 2 win since it was at home.

Seton Hall will lose at RU today.

Heard their top player went out with a broken arm immediately so that helped get them their w. I just think ISU wanted no part of Iowa’s physicality.

1) This ISU team had known weaknesses coming into the game, and both showed up: a) they are a poor shooting team; b) they are not a good rebounding team.
2) What was likely the most surprising is how many of the 50:50 plays went to Iowa. By that I mean it seemed to me that at most junctures Iowa out-hustled and out-worked ISU.
3) This game reminded me of those games playing pick up where a bunch of older guys are playing a team of younger guys and the cocky younger guys think the are going to school them. However, the older guys can all shoot, move the ball, set picks and completely dominate because they played the game smarter (in this case better plan and better coached). Don’t get me wrong, not dissing Iowa, saying they just schooled ISU by playing basketball the way it was meant to be played.

Regarding point #3, you should have just come out and said Iowa has more white guys on their team. We all know that's what you meant.

weird. I don’t see anyone here not enjoying the win. Iowa appears to be a fine team. Isu, at least what I saw tonight, was awful. Uninspired, zero hustle, poorly coached etc.... I fully admit I haven’t watched a single second of any other clown games this year, and likely won’t watch anymore after tonight. Sorry if I hurt your feelings for calling them terrible.

I thought you had a really good and fair assessment for this being the only game you have seen them play... yikes ISU was BAD in every aspect. Like the other dude said - they have played decent at times but they aren’t as polished as Iowa is at this point in the season. They have some talent that didn’t get experience last year because of Shayok, THT, and Wigginton. I expect them to improve as the season goes on (I hope for the Hawks SOS). But who knows? College sports can be funny like that - who saw this Iowa run coming after the DePaul game?

TCOOL, if you check my history of posts on this sight, I believe you will find it hard to find a racist comment from me. I was simply saying that ISU has known weaknesses and Iowa exploited them. Iowa has known weaknesses (ex. Not the best lateral movement in man-to-man defense) and ISU was unable to exploit them. Rather than being 50:50 balls, I would have to see the stats, but of what I was able to see from the game (I was driving back from Chicago during much of it), especially in the first half it seemed that Iowa got to most of those. Iowa crashed the boards hard and was rewarded with lots of offensive rebounds when they weren’t blocked out. I call those hustle and effort plays and that was a stat it felt like Iowa dominated.

On the third point, I was both the young buck on the team getting squashed in this pick-up games, and then later on some of the old-man teams. It is fun when well played basketball wins out. It was simply an analogy about playing smart with attention to detail on the basics of basketball and working as a team instead of individual. So I feel your backslap on racism was unwarranted. I was answering the OP question on what happened to ISU...the answer is the Iowa basketball team happened to them in this game.

I believe he was just flipping you a little a crap.

You accurately described iowa’s offense through. It’s why fran continues to put up points even after major personnel losses and injuries, but it’s also why we see letups on the defensive end in some games.
