I've never had fish and chips in the bath, it's going on the list.
We’ve decided to do London and Paris on our trip and I look forward to eating Indian food in London.

There are lots of good curry houses but it's totally not Indian food 😉
I understand. Houston has a ton of Indian restaurants from all regions. Just like British curry a lot.
I understand. I was referring to something else but do try varied Indian regions. They are all different.
Even biryani, like paella, is very different in India depending on where you are.

I am not picky so YMMV, but pretty much any Middle Eastern place I’ve been to there has been good. Lots of Lebanese joints, and they’re all always packed.
What are your thoughts on the stuff I buy at Costco that has the friendly looking Indian lady on the package?
I have a vegetarian kid, and it makes it easier. Although, I like to throw in some cashews to punch up the nutritional value for her.
Many Indian dishes, both veggie and non, have cashews as part of the curry. Usually, they are soaked and ground up giving the curry a creamy consistency. Chances are if the curry is yellow in color, like a korma, it has ground up cashews. As you rightly said, cashews have a high nutritional value and are yummy.
The one I buy the most for her is spinach based. Not to be ignorant of your native culture. It has chunks of cheese in it. Maybe some puréed lentils. So, not even a curry. It’s decent enough coming out of the bag. And, for a college kid with limited space it holds well.
You're not insulting me. Believe it or not those are curries as well. The cheese is called paneer or farmers cheese. The spinach plus cheese curry is called Palak paneer.
The lentil one is called Dhal makni. Essentially lentils with a savory butter sauce.
No one including him is knowledgeable about food from all cultures. No one. Everyone has a sweet spot. For a similar reason, you don't go to a dermatologist for brain surgery. I'm glad he's knowledgeable about food. He even has 2 indian spices. I am blown away.

In my experience, English food is generally pretty bad other than breakfast food. It's better in the other British countries. In England, I found Indian food to be the best.
I did go to a pub about 30 minutes outside Manchester, in the middle of nowhere, that had really good venison.
