What's your favorite dessert?

Stilton and port.

Oooo, an aristocrat.

Peanut butter and chocolate ice cream is good.

Wow, another way too hard of a question to decide on. For me chocolate is usually involved. A great chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and maybe some vanilla ice cream and I love Kemp's Chocolate fudge Almond ice cream. But man my om and my wife made and make great pies like apple and strawberry or lime parfait pies. And my mom's bread pudding with lemon sauce.

I’d say it all depends on the geographic location and time of year with regards to a favorite. If I’m at Gibson’s steakhouse in Chicago, I’d say the carrot cake. If I’m in Florida, key lime pie, Vegas at Joe’s one of their pie options, holiday time peppermint ice cream with hot fudge, Caribbean island some sort of rum pudding or a fine cigar with a glass of tasty bourbon or rum. And the list goes on and on. Love the always changing options depending on locale and their dessert history.

That’s a really tough question because it depends on what I’m feeling at that time. What I mean is when it’s 100 plus degrees in Florida I want something different than if it’s the dead of winter or a cool Autumn Breeze or sitting on a beach in the Keys, Hawaii or a Caribbean island.

Because when it’s 100 plus outside there is probably nothing better than a New Orleans style snobliz or Hawaiian shaved ice or a nice sorbet or sherbet. But in Fall, I want a nice fruit pie or heavy chocolate dish.

So I guess my answer would be Key Lime pie, it’s one of the few desserts I could picture wanting to eat on the beach, when it’s miserably hot, besides a heavy turkey or roast beef meal or in the dead of winter.

A memory. 15yo me stayed with friends in the area of Destin/San Destin. We travelled inland like 30 minutes to someplace that looked like a cabin- long time ago so whatever on accuracy.

The chocolate silk pie was the best thing I ever had.

I traveled back to that area a dozen or so times as an adult and could never figure out where we went. Maybe OP moms house?

Key lime pie has some serious sugar content.

I love pretty much any dessert without cream cheese.

I would say maybe an ice cream cake I make for my wife's birthday. It's not fancy but it is a household favorite. Cake, frosting, cookies and cream ice cream, more frosting on the ice cream.
Ice cream cake is neither good ice cream, or good cake.

Top 3 favorite pies?

Who can stop at 3 pies? They’re the best dessert, better than Cakes or Candies.

My Favorite Pies in order
1) Key Lime Pie
2) Yoder’s Peanut Butter Pie (completely different than the overly rich and decadent standard PB that you can only take a couple of bites and then have to stop, this you can eat the entire pie in one sitting as it’s a vanilla pudding topped with peanut butter and powdered sugar combined into little crumbles)

Is this thread really almost two full pages and no mention of the op’s mom? What the heck guys.

I love a good strawberry pretzel dessert or some call it a strawberry pretzel salad.
A base of crushed pretzels mixed with some butter and sugar.
next a layer of whipped topping, cream cheese and more sugar.
Next a layer of strawberry jello with real strawberries mixed in.

Good old fashioned Snickers bar for the win.

I like Snickers. In fact the mini Snickers is my secret to making amazing Smores (rather than using simple Hershey’s Chocolate). But I’ve got quite a few candy bars I prefer. Even if you take away international candies and those from “Craft” American producers and I’m stuck with convenience store megaproducers, I’m still going with Zero, Whatchamacallit, Reese’s Take 5, 5th Avenue, Skor, Heath, 100 Grand Bar, Baby Ruth, and Oh Henry bar before I hit Snickers. I used to love Butterfinger as well but they ruined it when Nestle took over and stupidly changed the recipe.

Key lime pie is awesome.

There used to be a great little fishmonger store in Arlington, run by this guy "Gary" and his wife. Gary was a real character, from the gulf coast somewhere, and made homemade key lime pie that was to die for. Tart, and great texture. Every time I'd go in there for some fish, he'd always put the hard sell on me to take a pie home too, and his success rate was probably well above 75%. There's really nothing like a big slice of key lime pie and a cup of coffee.

Apple pie, ice cream
#1 for me as well.

When I was a kid our neighbor used to help us bale hay or straw. The women would go all out for our noon meal, fried chicken and roast beef with a dozen side dishes. Anyway, this one old guy who I always admired used to eat two piece of apple pie at lunch, one with a slice of Velvetta cheese on it and another smothered in chicken gravy.

Key lime pie AINEC

Others:
Bananas Foster
Strawberry sorbet
Apple pie
Vanilla ice cream w/ chocolate sauce
Bomb Pop
