im assuming the coaching staff wants to get their hands on these kids as soon as possible.
When have top level recruits typically moved to iowa city in the past?
And do they take classes during the summer?

I remember reading something that Bull moved to Iowa City in like May or something like that. I don't think all the other recruits moved down that early.

Bull got here in mid to late June. His g/f was at Iowa already. His g/f is Stickley's sister (one of Iowa's wrestling's student wrestling managers) which is probably why Stickley could afford to come here and grey shirt.

I think stickley already moved to iowa, so theres that
Stickley's situation is a little different then Nick Lee's. Stickley graduated High School and then moved to Iowa. He is not enrolled at Iowa but is working full time to establish residency and will enroll at Iowa next year. This is allowing him to get in state tuition. He's training with the HWC. Don't Knock PSU for what they are doing with Nick Lee, because I bet Gavin Teasdale does the same thing next year. With his two close friends and training partners heading to Iowa next year I expect Teasdale who turned 18 in Oct which allows him to move on his own will move to Iowa at the same time, finish HS online, work full time for a year, and train with the HWC. This would also give him in-state tuition when he enrolls the following year helping Iowa with the 9.9. This is why I believe he will start as a TF at 33.

Her and Justin are cousins I believe. Her sibling is Eli Stickley who wrestles for Wisconsin.

Wow. Lot to chew on there. Honestly, you may be spot on, but I know I would never entertain the thought or allow my child to do this. Assuming he wins again this year, he'd be in line to be a 4 Timer in Pennsylvania, and I would assume he'd want to see that thru. I know I would. Maybe he doesn't care, I don't really know.

From an overall life perspective, I hope this does not happen. Be a kid as long as you can.

FWIW, my understanding of the requirements to establish residency means the student must sever ties financially with family and pay for everything themselves. Maybe that's state by state, but that was the requirement for my daughter to attend a school in Colorado.

Or establish in state tuition and save 50k dollars. It makes sense since 18 isn't really a kid.

If this were such a great deal, a lot more people would be doing it, and there's been quite a few that are "old" for their class come down the pike lately. It doesn't appear to be sweeping the nation. Kids are expensive, what's another 50K? Ha!

Teasdale appears to me to be the kind of kid who could get a Full Ride to somewhere if he were truly worried about money. I have no idea about his Family financial situation, and it's certainly none of my business.

Now as far as Teasdale goes, is he a Full Ride type recruit for Iowa? Spencer Lee is without question, but how about Teasdale in 2 years? Let's say he is Full Ride material. If that's the case, none of this matters, and that may well be the case. We know Iowa doesn't give these out like candy, but they better be re-thinking some of that if they want to play seriously moving forward, and it appears to me they are.

And frankly, another year in Pennsylvania as an Iowa recruit is pretty good advertising if Teasdale remains firm and keeps on keeping on like he has been. Stay home until you graduate High School kid.

I think they can figure it all out on their own and that they don't need my advice.

Here I thought TnT were taking all of my advice to them and implementing it for the team. Just figuring out this might not be the case...thanks for ruining my day TT.

For the curious, UI's residency requirements: https://registrar.uiowa.edu/residency

Don't have to establish total financial independence, parents just can't claim you on their returns.
