When I scan the Iowa bench I see what appears to be eight ( 8 ) coaches...

Poor Gatens...a guy that was Hawkeye great, IC native, and he's got to keep his mouth zipped and be another Fran "yes man."

This is all Fran's show.

What are they coaching?
When I saw this thread title, I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of my chair--because I said the exact same thing to my wife during the broadcaast last night! And I added, "Back in 1970 we had one of the greatest teams in Iowa history (Fred Brown, John Johnson, & Co. who went 14-0 in the BIG) and Iowa had TWO coaches: Head Coach Ralph Miller and Asst. Dick Schultz. That was it. And no strength and conditioning guys, no nutrionists, no psychologists . . .

When you have a coach for every two players, and you have games like Wisconsin, USC, and UCLA, some people are left to wonder what the hell is going on . . . or something like that. LOL

Yep, coaches make more and do less these days. I've always wondered what that fat bald guy on the bench does & how much money he's paid. Head coaches now have their own entourage's. It's almost laughable.
