When/if humans encounter extraterrestrials - chances are they will be AI, not organic entities . . .

...and they are gonna be seriously pissed off when they find out what we made their distant "relatives" do...

Stephen Hawking was right about aliens. Our best hope is that the vastness of space protects us, and we should be trying to hide quietly in our little corner of the universe without bringing attention to ourselves. Our own planet's history clearly establishes why. When different races of our own species have encountered each other, the more advanced civilization has viewed the less advanced as unequal and unworthy of equal treatment. And that is within our own species. Then look at how we have treated species on our own planet that are truly intelligent, just slightly less intelligent than us. We've driven them to near extinction, gathered them to exhibit in cages, and used them to perform experiments on.

Now think of a species of aliens advanced enough to travel to Earth. We could put forward our most intelligent human, and they would likely think, "look at cute Stephen Hawking, he can perform advanced quantum physics. He has the intelligence of one of our seven year olds."

The odds that they would treat us as equals are slim. More likely, they would take our resources and treat us like we treat chimps.

Maybe we deserve it?

Bro, it’s already more likely than not that we’re in a simulation.

Do all advanced organic lifeforms reach a point where their AI achieves consciousness and takes over? This could have already played out many times on many planets throughout the galaxy. It’s likely inevitable for us as well.

Maybe it has already happened to us. Maybe we are AI??

You can put enough molecules in solution where they will start to self assemble and carry information. DNA/RNA/Peptides.
