As an outsider I always assumed that Brett Bielema would eventually replace Ferentz. How would you feel about it?
Nope. He is a great Hawkeye. But his personality mixed with the Iowa administration would go together as well as oil & water.
He played for Hayden Fry. Isn't his personality similar?
Are you joking?
Hayden Fry was a bully and could be a bit of a jerk much like BB. I remember a story when he told Gary Barnett in 1994 "I hope we didn't hurt your boys" after the game. Fry was hardly the class act that Ferentz is.
I've always thought he'd be the perfect fit there.No. Nebraska will snatch him up.
I'm not so sure that his success at Wisky, didn't have more to do with Barry Alverez's system there. He seems to just keep right on rolling there. New coaches three of the last four years, new coordinaters, and they still look like Barry's team.I wouldn't be opposed. He would probably bring in better recruits and as much hate to say it he does coach like Hayden in the sense if he's up 28-0 he's looking to score more and go for the jugular like Fry. One of the big differences I think between Hayden and Kirk is KF takes his foot of the pedal little more in those instances. Bielama proved he could win and be successful in the big 10. Huge difference with him coaching in sec west best division in college football and big 10 west. Think he would be very successful at Iowa even though he could rub some people the wrong way but sure as long as he wins they could get past that stuff.
BB will likely have severe heart issues before KF ever thinks of retiring. As an outsider I always assumed that Brett Bielema would eventually replace Ferentz. How would you feel about it?

Hourly checks on his A1C.I don't know? Any idea what Bielema will be doing in 20 years?
