When will we hit on a trick play that actually works?

We've had 2 fails on fake field goals. We attempted to do a flea-flicker against Iowa State ... only for them to be in man-coverage ... and the DB didn't even look back (i.e. the play was a big fail). And our double-reverse pitch resulted in a turnover that produced North Texas's lone touchdown ... yet another fail.

When will we execute a trick play that hits the mark? Against which opponent?

My guess is against Indiana ... what's yours?

Just the thought that we are doing them that often will keep opponents on their toes. It will work very soon.

Not saying it's a trick play but the shovel pass is a play that Iowa has seldom used with KF at the helm and I believe there has been some success this year with it.

I almost mentioned the play. I remember us doing it twice this season. The first time we had done it - it was effective. The second time, it didn't go for much of a gain.

Anyhow, I didn't include it because, while it is different from what we've seen from the O over the past several years, it isn't exactly a trick play either. It's just another way to do a quick forward pass.

Soon I hope but I can do without a pitch on the reverse at our own 15 to 20 yd line. Let's not make it more difficult on the defense than needed.

I think the fake field goals actually worked. They didn't work for the games they were attempted, but if you watch the 57 yard field goal against Pitt. The left side of there defense didn't go for the block instead playing for the fake.
