Where is the line for a human killing an animal with their bare hands?

So I was discussing with my buddies on what would be the animal that would be the line for a human to kill with their bare hands. Some settled around a wolf and I settled around a honey badger due to their intense defensive abilities.

What do you think HROT?

Are you talking size, ferocity, defensive capabilities?

Like, I think I could kill a cow or a giraffe or a manatee with my bare hands, and those are way bigger than a wolf or a badger.

Do I have the element of surprise? Or did we sit these animals down and they know what the deal is. That two of us are going in but only one of us is coming out?

You and your buddies sound like sickos.
Well it started with a tweet about if you were down 80 against NBA players would the nba players come back in 5 mins. The. It evolved into an older argument about how one of my friends think they would be able to take a wolf 1 on 1 and then it evolved into what is the animal that would be the line of humans being able to kill a animal with their bare hands.

I'm curious how you would kill the giraffe?

or a giraffe or a manatee with my bare hands,
How exactly would you do this? I am not saying they would kill you or you couldn't defend against one, but how exactly would you kill a giraffe or manatee with your bare hands? Not sure you could even get up to a giraffe's head to be able to do anything there.

Seriously serial killer thoughts. I have never thought about an animal I would or could kill with my bare hands. Nor do I see the need to think of it. Defending or protecting yourself from a potential animal in the wild is different than just contemplating killing an animal with your bare hands and would be something a psychopath thinks up. Bruno, you need to go see a psychiatrist ASAP!

They have a couple timberwolves in a pen at the Niabi Zoo over here. You should toss your friend in and make him prove it.

I would love to see someone say, "Hold my beer" and try to choke out a giraffe when they can do this.

Dude. Those kangaroos are usually declawed. One out in the wild if you chose to go at it with would gut you with a kick when their claws dig in through your abdomen.

The worst part is that kangaroos are armed and dangerous. They have gnarly claws on the back of their feet. They lean back and intentionally kick in a way that will cause these claws to disemboweled anything they are fighting. Not only are they muscularly powerful, but these claws are guaranteed to instantly kill anything they hit.

Yeah, I think people underestimate the size and strength of a full grown wolf.

And I think people underestimate just how weak and soft humans are. If we hadn't figured out tool usage, we would be at a serious disadvantage.

Honey badger? Bare hands? Yeah, fat chance.

For certain military training you have to kill animals with your bare hands and eat them. That's your food.

The person I know who did it had to do chicken or rabbit.

He said some in the group didn't eat for 3-4 days until they could bring themselves to do it.

Or they could tap out.

Survival skills.

Sure, you can snap a rabbits neck with your barehands for a quick death. snap off its feet and deglove the entire hide with a couple pulls. But thats a rabbit, they are very fragile animals. You don't have to have military training to just know basic field dressing as a hunter.

But small prey animals vs medium sized predators are a completely different physical structure and therefore discussion. And whoever said cow above clearly hasn't left the city in a while.

This for some reason reminds me of the story where some dude jumped into the panda bear enclosure because he wanted to hug one and it mauled the crap out of him. It probably watched him approach with that cute little smiling panda face before it ripped into him.

Also, I would put money on a honey badger vs any of you.

The point of the exercise is to get over the mental hurdle of killing an animal with your bare hands when your survival is at stake. Easy for someone who grew up hunting. Not so easy for the suburbanite who views anything smaller than a pig as a pet.
