Where's the place to catch all the action when this shindig goes down Thursday and what time does it all kick off?

The NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will be live from Madison Square Garden for the first time ever and ESPN will televise every session and cover every mat, every match for the entire three days of the sport’s premier event (March 17-19). This is the third year of every session, mat and match coverage. The NCAA announced the full 2016 Division I Wrestling brackets Wednesday night.

GO HAWKS!!

Either get yourself to a computer or buy an AppleTV. That will allow you to watch all 8 mats via ESPN3.

OK -- so we'll be in the air for most of the first session. Planning on paying for in-flight wi-fi. Have tried unsuccessfully to use ESPN3 in the past. Must make it work this time. Anyone have any tips for using ESPN3?

I need a password, correct? Is that my satellite provider password? Any tips on the 8 mat coverage? Identifying which mats the Hawks are on will obviously be key. Very cool that they're doing that, BTW.

Any pointers from seasoned ESPN3 users would be much appreciated!

WWDM, pretty sure you'll have to log on through your satellite provider with that password. As far as keeping up with what mats to watch, you'll have to keep an eye on Trackwrestling or Twitter

I don't think any major common air carriers allow streaming video in the air. There's just not enough bandwidth for that. So you're likely screwed.

Otherwise, log into ESPN3. You have to Sign up for an ESPN account if you don't have one. From there when you try to view video it asks you for your cable/satellite login. Have the Track dashboard open to see upcoming matches.

Thanks, goia. Was hoping they'd figured out a way to show fans who's on which mat. Beggars can't be choosers, but I wouldn't think it would be all that hard for ESPN to provide that info.

I'm afraid I'm going to get bogged down trying to find mats on Track and miss a bunch of action. I guess we'll see soon enough.

We need to have somebody post mat assignments for the Hawks as the tourney progresses. The title needs to be 'Mat Assognments' and only used for that purpose only.

I cut the cord over a year ago. I couldn't find anyway to stream ESPN 3 online without having a dish or cable account, so I signed up for Sling TV. That airs all the ESPNs live and I think 3 as well. You won't be able to pop open 6 separate windows at a time as you would if you just logged on to ESPN with your cable credentials, which sucks.
I also found that you can look at replays on ESPN3 the next day of the event without having to provide your dish or cable provider. So, if you can wait a day and stay off message boards and twitter, you could watch all sessions the next day via Replay.
I'd love to know how others are going to watch who are cord cutters as well.

I think you can put 4 mats on a screen. So with 2 screens/browsers you should be able to show all 8 at once.

Does anyone know if ESPN3 works on Ipads or Iphones, or what App you need for that?

May have to commandeer one day the kids' laptops for the flight.

Or, as crablegs asks, can I make it work with an iPad?

Got a bad feeling it's not going to work. The more tips, the better!

Again, unless you're on a private, high end airline you're not going to have access to streaming video. And even then I'm not sure it is possible. Airplane wifi is very weak.

Yes. WatchEspn is the app that you need for Ipads, Iphones, droids and tablets.

Sling TV with a sports' package (ESPN, ESPN U, ESPN 2); you can sign up and have it for free for 7 days and then simply cancel it after the wrestling tournament is over this weekend.

All in-flight wi-fi is good for is e-mail or light browsing. Your best best will be following PBP on here or twitter.

Seriously? No chance of getting any decent streaming? Not even worth trying? Not doubting you, YoungGun -- just not real pleased to hear that.

Dang -- that bums me out.

Speaking of PBP, is anyone on here planning on doing it?

I have SlingTV. You CAN watch ESPN on SlingTV app, but you CANNOT watch things on the WatchESPN App without a TV provider. That has been my experience in the past anyway.

Just downloaded watch ESPN app on my iPad. Got signed in and looks to be working fine. I can send you my friend's dish network sign in if you need it WWDM. Lol
I have to do that my emoji game is not good.

Dang -- this is like the old All Access/BTN2GO/BTN+ fiasco.

I'm OK on the DirecTV login, thanks!

My main concern now is that in-flight wi-fi will be too slow to stream anything.

I don't understand the difference between the WatchESPN app and ESPN3. The former is for phones and tablets, whereas the latter is for computers?

Also, I take it that the "ESPN App"
is the same as the ESPN App", correct?

Man -- while I appreciate the technology, I find all of this to be a big headache.

Go on your I Pad and download Watch ESPN. Pull up a baseball or softball game that is on live and see if your connection is fast enough with out buffering. I bumped my Internet speed up a level last week in preparation for tomorrow. I also invested 35.00 and bought Chromecast. Well worth it. Now I can stream whatever I'm watching on my phone or I pad to my TV. Then have other mats up on my extra iPad for those times when there is multiple good matches going at same time. Labtop will keep track going so I know mat assignments. Hope that helps you. You also need a comfortable chair for all this sitting.

I'm thinking of cutting the cord on Directv in june when my 2 years are up?

Is Sling the way to go coupled with either Netflix/Amazon or Hulu. I have Netflix now. I don't know much about appletv. I only really care about watching Iowa football/wrestling and HBO's Game of Thrones.

What do you recommend?

Thanks, 20. Sounds like you have a great set-up!

Did answer a few of my own questions. Already got the ESPN App, which is the same as WatchESPN, in case anyone wondered.

So I do have access to a laptop and an iPad. It looks to me like ESPN3 is available either through the app on a mobile device or on a laptop. Not sure which device is likely to more effectively stream ESPN3 using in-air wi-fi. Anyone have any idea on that? Unfortunately, that's not something I can test in advance.

Can't say yea or nay, sorry. I just started the 7 Day free trial solely for the purpose of watching NCAAs this week. I watched ESPN on Sling a few minutes yesterday and it seemed ok. I know you can only watch Sling on one device at a time, and no dvr capability. There's also commercials just like a regular cable channel. Worth a try I suppose.

Great -- thanks, ping, for the additional headache!

Now, I'm looking at the App Store, and the ESPN App and WatchESPN are presented as separate options. What the heck?!

Sling and Netflix is what I have. I've purchased the BigTen2Go monthly Subscription during wrestling season and you can get HBO package on Sling.

So it turns out I'm out of luck for Session I and II. I'd forgotten that you can't watch ESPN3 outside the US, and we don't take off until about 1:00 eastern time, so I'm screwed.

Along those lines, would very much appreciate some PBP for Iowa matches from anyone who has the time!

Roku and use a friend or relative's login info. You can add HBO to Go for very little. The key is you need to know someone who is willing to give you their tv provider login info. Lots of tv can be watched on this little thing. For app channels you can't get on your Roku, you can get on your phone and mirror to your smart tv or through Roku.
I cut the cord last year. There's very few things you can't access.

It will automatically prompt you. Info note: For those who have combined their Directv and ATT bill, your login has changed to whatever your ATT info is.

I just have two browsers open with four mats on each so I have every match available. I also have a tab available that is open to track wrestling so I can see who is upcoming on which mat. Finally, I have a hawkeye report tab available so that I can read/post in between matches that I want to watch.

I am totally serious when I tell you that these Thursday and Friday sessions are two of my favorite days of each year.

If you are going to pick a single day to go it is Friday hand's down.

The sport needs more like Ohio! And the rest of us reading this, of course.

WatchESPN is based on cable provider.

ESPN3 is based on ISP.

At least that's how it used to be.

Ohio, do you have this setup already or get it done right when it starts? I was trying to figure out how to get four mats going in ine browser window on my computer, but ESPN is saying the quad screen is not available at this time.
