The no-pic calls the below Christmas Balls.

I call the below Christmas Bulbs.

Her reasoning: Its not a light bulb, there is no filament in them or nothing, its a round ball.

My reasoning: Its a hollow glass sphere or bulb, regardless of filament or not. If it was dense or not glass, I would agree with it being a ball, but they are not.

What say you HBOT, who is correct here?

The glass things that break when the cat knocks them to the ground are bulbs; there's no requirement for something to have a filament to be a bulb - tulips, onions, and other plants grow from bulbs, and the rubber ball at the end of a turkey baster is a bulb.

Oh, and OPs mom plays with my Christmas balls.

Seems that, by definition, it's an ornament. ("a thing used to make something look more attractive but usually having no practical purpose, especially a small object such as a figurine.") Specifically, a Christmas tree ornament. The shape of an ornament is immaterial. It's not a "ball" because it doesn't fit the definition of a "ball". For the same reason, it's not a "bulb".
