Mona Lisa Vito is a great choice!

You know, something I was thinking about...people were dumbfounded she was nominated, and then even more so when she won, the Oscar for that perfromance. There were conspiracy theories that Jack Palance purposely said her name rather than whoever the real winner was on the card. People couldn't believe the absurdity of it.

Talk about freezing cold takes. That has 100% been vindicated. Hers is the best and most enduring performance, in the best and most enduring movie, of all the nominees. Here is who she beat:

• Judy Davis – Husbands and Wives as Sally Wainwright
• Joan Plowright – Enchanted April as Mrs. Fisher
• Vanessa Redgrave – Howards End as Ruth Wilcox
• Miranda Richardson – Damage as Ingrid Fleming

Seriously, who really remembers and gives a shit about any of these other performances or movies? I remember Howards End was a thing at the time, but nobody has watched any of those movies since maybe 1996.
