There's a cluster of Russian bots lurking on the iowa hawkeyes off topic board... sounds almost as crazy as jewish space lasers.

I think it has been all but confirmed Nat A was a foreign troll and it is honestly not that ludicrous.

HBOT has ~100 regular posters (at least the polls can draw this type of response) and likely a couple hundred other lurkers/infrequent posters. We all in turn influence probably >1000 people in real life (3 close friends/family each).

I saw once that foreign trolls get paid a very small amount of money per hour. If you made $3/hour (that is being generous) and you spend 20 minutes a day making 5-10 posts on HBOT that is the equivalent of $1/day to influence 1,000 people. Now all you have to do is scale that up.

At $1,000/day you are influencing 1 million people. That is enough to sway elections if you reach the right constituents. You don’t think enemies of the US would see that as a great ROI?

It’s not their main vector of attack (that would be Twitter these days), but it would not surprise me that their JV team practices in forums like ours.

I have changed a few opinions over time on here.

• I kinda follow Florida State teams thanks to our refugee brothers and sisters
• I have expanded my grilling/smoking/BBQ repertoire thanks to Trad and a few others
• I have learned a shitload about the Ukraine situation thanks to the mega thread and it has changed my view of Russia substantially

So I don’t think your statement is exclusively true. And yes, this site has reinforced my love of boobs.
