Who are your top 5 favorite actors?

Man, there are so many great actors that make it really hard to narrow it down to 5. The top 2 obvious ones are Denzel and cruise. Those are no brainers as if they are in a movie, I want to watch. If I have to narrow it down to 3 more I would go

DiCaprio
Sam Jackson
Tom hanks

Honorable mention: Deniro, Pitt, Carey, Farrell (Colin and will) Hackman, Horton, smith freeman.

John Cusack is probably one of my favorite PEOPLE who also happens to be in many of my favorite films. He’s definitely there, just not versatile enough for top five. High Fidelity is an all-time great movie. Great overall cast though. Wish we would have seen more from Danish actress Iben Hjele who played his love interest.

There are probably a couple of movies of his that you haven't seen. One of them, was when he played a character that knew Hitler. The other when he was a widower of an Iraq Vet. He can be diverse. Just Hollywood is over him.

Hell yeah. Both great movies. I'm going to try do a Runaway Jury in a week when my jury duty starts. Still think I get bounced.

Grosse Point Blank with him and Dan Akroyd seen in cafe was hilarious.

Fantastic movie! Even better soundtrack.

Technically that’s not an omelet.

I’m not looking to get into a semantic argument. I just want the protein.

You can’t go home. But I guess you can shop there.

5. Has to be a tie--DiCaprio and Pitt
I wish I could add Ed Harris in there somewhere, too.

Keaton has made a 2nd career. Him in the "Spotlight" was a game changer for me after his 80's movies.

Eastwood is great actor, but I think a better director.

You’ve got to watch it. In fact, I think it was just added to Netflix.
I don’t have Netflix right now but if it pops up on one of the other streaming services I have I’ll give it a watch.

There are a handful of actors who are masterful at selecting highly interesting projects and in turn turning in well-tuned performances.:

- Kenneth Branagh: Reinhard Heydrich in "Conspiracy," to Benedick in "Much Ado About Nothing," and Detective Poirot in "Murder on the Orient Express," ... if this guy is involved, I know it will be super interesting. He even brought "The Magic Flute" to the screen. The film didn't quite work, but he definitely got the soundtrack right. His "Hamlet" was spectacular.

-Billy Bob Thornton: From "Sling Blade," to "Bad Santa," to "Jane Mansfield's Car," If he is involved, I know I am going to like the outcome.

-Geoffrey Rush (a great Marquess de Sade)

-Ralph Fiennes (His Amon Goeth was scary in "Schindlers List, " but he was even scarier in "In Bruges.")

Others who for the most part simply pick interesting material and always seem to make really good movies.

-Clint Eastwood
-Christian Bale
-Leonardo DiCaprio
-Daniel Day Lewis

It is, you’re right. It wasn’t my cup of tea, nor my wife. He is a great actor and the only reason we finished the film. The fact it’s rated 39th all time is further evidence that the people who decide these rankings are not to be taken seriously. You can’t tell me it’s even in the top 500 best films, let alone top 50. What a joke lol.
To each their own. I thought it was great, but even more so that Simmons gave an all-time acting performance. Like Vilmer in Tombstone.

I can agree that it was a great performance, but the film just wasn’t great overall to me. It’s definitely not the 39th best film all time, that’s just silly.

Note, list limited to the living, and likely a different list for comedy. A few others considered but they became parodies of themselves.

Oooh Fiennes is a good one

Alien = 8.5 imdb (#50, 1 mil votes), 93%/94% RT, 89 metacritic, 1 Oscar,

Whiplash = 8.5 imdb (#39, 1 mil votes), 94%/94% RT, 89 metacritic, 3 Oscar's, 1 GG

What I think is silly is douching up a thread about people's personal opinions but I guess that's just me
