that next week we may perhaps resort back to the stale bread offense before osu? Or is it here to stay? Defense is secure, but just got a feeling... I hope it isn't a step forward, then a step back.... I'm not a pessimist, just feel we've been here before... I think we win next week 20 to 17!

Go Hawks!

Wouldn't be surprised. To be honest it has worked against Wisconsin. The winner of next weeks game will be the team that is more physical, plain and simple. It should be a classic Iowa/Wisconsin bloodbath. Most of us fans will hurt after this hard hitting affair.

I hope like hell we continue to get wadley out in space and for the love of god, let Stanley make some plays. Kid is a baller.

The talking heads on tv said it yesterday and I tend to agree, the Hawks came out trying to win this game. Not that we don't try every week but we pulled the conservative, keep it close til the end, run up the back of our guard 30 times in the first half, to try and take the game from OSU. They are clearly more talented almost everywhere but we threw the kitchen sink at them and it worked. Would not be surprised to see the game plan go backward next week.

I certainly don’t expect Iowa to come out scoring like they did against OSU. IMO, it’s gonna be close with whoever turns the ball over less winning.

Iowa gashed OSU's defense all day. Stanley was near perfect, the receivers caught everything they had a chance to catch, and no big plays were called back due to a penalty (that I can remember). OSU had some drops and drive killing penalties - and of course, 4 turnovers.

Wisky is very disciplined. They will not help the Hawks the way OSU did.

yes, I agree with that. Wasn it Andrew Jackson who said, "No man is more dangerous than one who has nothing to lose"?

I don't we had anything to lose yesterday by going all-out to win, and it worked. just my thoughts.

Honestly our Hawks have nothing to lose at this point with three losses already around our necks. Hoping we come out with the same aggressive approach and hang a loss on the badgers.

I'd expect a lower scoring game as well. One big factor is I expect WI to sell out against the run like most teams have. It'll be up to coaches to let Stanley sling it like this week, then on Stanley and receivers to execute.

The big advantage Iowa has next week is little to no pressure. WIscy still has BIG championship and playoff hopes. A loss would not hurt there BIG championship hopes, but would deep six for good any playoff hopes Bucky would have. So, Iowa played loose Saturday, and should be the looser team next Saturday. Iowa matches up different with Wisconsin the tOSU, and we still have youth at key positions, so we could see either offense that has played this season. However, the coaches have been saying that the offense is close half the season, and finally arrived Saturday night. Past results tell us that Iowa plays better as the season goes, and this would be be a prime example of that. Last year we were damn near unbeatable the last four games, until the bowl anyway. :)

And this is the frustrating part about Iowa and KF. The team that is capable of beating the crap out of OSU is also capable of losing to jNW with little offensive output which is the same team that will probable go ultra conservative this week against Wisco and "try to keep the game close and win it in the 4th".

Why can't KF just put out a consistent winner like we saw against OSU, last year against Michigan, etc, etc. The talent is there, obviously. I think it's all on the coaches and how the scheme and game plan. While it's great to win these games it is also frustrating knowing the Hawks are good enough to put up that kind of performance yet throw up some of the clunkers they do as well.

Honestly, I have very little expectations for this Saturday. I hope we win and will be cheering for an Iowa win, I just expect that we'll see the return of Old Kirk.

No doubt, we've seen cases before where there's a breakout game then a reversion. NewKirk in early 15 was a false dawn. The pantsing of MSU in 2010 was a screw you game by KF that wasn't reproduced.

Honestly did not see much different between play calls- other than a little more emphasis on the TE's this week (although we generally do that anyway) difference was......................the players execution- I know you all think that is a swear word on here but it is the truth.

"Player execution" is such a loaded statement. Players will be in a better position to execute when the defense is being kept off balance and doesn't know the play call based on tendencies. If we run 15 dive plays in a row and are unsuccessful because of "execution" is that on the players not executing or the coach who calls the same play over and over. Now substitute "Dive" for "Outside zone". You catch my drift? It's the coach's job to put the players in a position to successfully execute. Scheming and play calling is a huge part of "executing".
