Who is signed up with AAA

Peace of mind for me. I’ve had a few times where I’ve had dead battery or the kid had unknown car Issue and had to be towed in.

Plus, in college, I used to run out of gas way more than I should have.

Pro they will jump you anywhere.

Con it will take over an hour to get jumped.

Yeah, the tow shops will definitely prioritize paying jobs over contractual AAA ones.

I’ve had good luck with calling tow service myself and getting reimbursed later.

If you use your car insurances roadside assistance will they **** with your insurance rate?

Mine has roadside assistance, and while I haven't needed to use it, I do feel like there's some sort of catch.

I am not. I'm a real man and can change a tire.

Seriously though, I don't know what they all do. Good question, OP.

Same here.

But sometimes busy traffic, highly congested interstate with cars not moving over and zipping by at 80+ and weather issues, etc... can be reason enough.

And if one travels a lot, you can find yourself reduced to trusting Sneaky Pete's Tow Service.

Have had AAA for at least 20 years. Always renew, but rarely have to use their emergency service. For me it’s peace of mind. The only perk I use AAA for are hotel and rental car discounts.

I did up until a few years ago. Ironically, every year I had it, I needed a tow or the wife (no pic) needed something for her vehicle. One time, I called them when a ding dong friend of mine locked her cars in the Jeep while it was running during a blizzard. She tipped the guy bigly for that one.

Pros/Cons? What are your favorite perks of AAA? :)

I've had AAA for 15 years. I think it's $115 per year for basic service.

I've used it three times in the past couple years; one time was because my battery died and the other two were flat tire issues. AAA showed up within 30 minutes each time.

AAA comes in handy. I recommend it. Make sure to check with your car insurance company to see if you already have roadside service.

AAA in rural Iowa is a joke. You're talking about a minimum 2 hour wait for AAA when I can call you a tow and they get there in under 30 mins.

I've had them for years. It doesn't cost a lot per year and when you need them it is worth every penny you've paid. Stranded on side of interstate, etc... There are many roadside assistance providers these days so maybe AAA isn't needed but they're the one I use. Edit to add, if you ever want a paper map just for the heck of it they will send you all you want.
