There was no way anybody was voting for Trump that didn’t in 2020. That was true by about 2 million. So America is less Trump than ever. Considering the gains Trump had in Latino votes and African American votes even more than 2 million “white” people didn’t vote for Trump this time.

What happened to 13 million Biden voters that stayed home? That’s the real question but nobody will answer it or even dare to discuss it. Was it racism? From Democrats? Was it disdain for women? From Democrats?

I am absolutely guilty of saying "the Democrats believe" whatever wacky thing, knowing full well that the majority of Democratic voters don't believe it. But that's kind of the point.

Yes, their inability to say "no, we will definitely not defund the police, that's a dumb and unpopular idea" and instead play around with nuance about what "defund the police" actually means and hope they can thread the needle without insulting some perceived part of their coalition is a big big problem.

Harris really ran pretty centrist campaign, didn't leverage identity politics at all almost, stayed away from any of those nutty ideas, and it wasn't quite enough. But she actually performed quite well wherever she campaigned. Her margins of defeat or falloff in the battleground states was far less than the swing toward Trump elsewhere.
