The timing has never been better probably, with the backlash against teachers unions over Covid, the progressive moves to remove tracking and advanced classes, homeschooling fights, the fight over gender ideology in schools.

People forget that the Department of Education didn't exist until 1980, it's not like it's some fundamental requirement of a country's education system. I think this is a pretty good guess.
