I’ll go with A. He appears to be the only one playing against big schools!
Edit, D does also!

The two I’ve found are already committed.

Three of the four are 4A I think. Not sure what class one of them is. Looks like 2A for the 4th one.

A is Tyreke Locure of Des Moines North 4A 15-4

B is Patrick McCaffrey of Iowa City West 4A 13-3

C is Jake Hilmer of North Linn 1A 20-0

D is D.J. Carton of Bettendorf 4A 19-1

As of right now I'd go with B. Patrick is having a very good season carrying a young IC West team and has played a strong schedule.

I read about a kid from Central City in the DSM Register who scored 76 points in a game recently. Played against East Buchanan. So, obviously not 4A competition, but that is an amazing night anyway.

Might be worth keeping an eye on...

With the limited information from the initial post...I would have said C. The most important part to me is what position does the player play? That might me make view FG% or Assists or Rebounds differently.......

3 of the 4 are Point Guards and the 4th Patrick McCaffrey is a Forward

He's a junior so not eligible for Mr. Basketball.

North Linn is 2A this year, but most of their competition is 1A.

I'd go either McCaffery or Carton.

From a purely stats perspective, I'd actually take Locure's teammate, Gatdoar Bijek, over Locure. He doesn't have the pure numbers, but most of his rates are better.

Hilmer is an excellent player, but their schedule is kind of a joke.

I don't follow commits much, I know Pat will be a hawk, have the other three committed anywhere?

Carton- Ohio State, assume you knew about this one
Locure- South Alabama
HIlmer- Upper Iowa for basketball and baseball

Thanks.... didn't realize North Linn moved up a class. Bijek is pretty good scorer, I thought about expanding out to more but narrowed it down to my top 4, some others to consider would also be Keegan Murray, Noah Carter, Owen Coburn, Aidan Vanderloo, Derek Krogmann, Trey Hutcheson, and so on.

Hilmer would have comparable stats in a higher class. Kid is good and it’s not because of playing 1A competition.

He’s good for 1a/2a, but there’s a reason he’s going to Upper Iowa. Just like the kid that won it a couple years ago.

He is, Bob is actually on staff at North Linn. At least he was last season.

Bob's son and Jake's dad is the head coach.
Very cool, yep. Bob was Forest City HC for decades before going down there to be the HC and then Jake who went to Forest City while his Dad coached there is the Coach now... Very cool!

Where is Hutchison from Linn-Mar in the discussion? Isn't he going to South Alabama also? If so, what is the connection between South Alabama and Iowa high school talent?
