Who is your favorite NFL team?

Chiefs, Super Bowl 4. Saw that SB in the family living room but was too young to know better really. Then the Xmas Eddie Podolak playoff game against the Dolphins and learning he was from Iowa happened.

Chiefs fan ever since.

Vikings, unfortunately.

But I couldn't live with myself if I was a bandwagon fan of the Cowboys or Steelers or somebody like that. Nothing worse than a Cowboys/Yankees/Lakers fan living in Iowa.

So I've got that going for me, which is nice.

Hey Hey Hey, We're the Buccaneers
Ho Ho Ho, We're the Buccaneers.
Offense! Defense! Now we're here to say,
Make the chiefs walk the plank,
Throw 'em in Tampa Bay!

Been a fan since the franchise started in 1976; I was in middle school in my hometown 40 miles north of Tampa. My dad split season tix with his business partner, so I went to a lot of games. Was in the Sombrero for their first regular season TD pass, the most flukish TD ever. They had first & goal from the one; ran it 3 straight times & got stuffed. On 4th down, handed it off again, with the back trying to leap over the pile. He got hit head on by a LB, bounced backwards, but landed on his feet; looked to his left & a WR was standing all alone in the end zone, maybe 6 or 8 yards outside of the pile, so he flipped a basketball-style two hand chest pass to the receiver for a TD.
Was at their first home win in the last game of their 2nd season (the week after their first win in franchise history, on the road against the 'aints. Was at their first playoff win over the Eagles, and the following week when they lost the NFC title game to the Rams.
They've brought me a lot more misery than joy through their 48 years of existence, but I still watch them about every Sunday.

I’ve got a buddy like that. Grew up in Iowa but likes the 49ers, Lakers, Yankees and the fvcking Wolverines. I can’t have a serious sports discussion with someone like that.

While growing up as a kid, I cheered for the Bears because they were the closest NFL franchise to where I lived and had Gayle Sanders and Rocky Bleier, not to mention Dick Butkus. Nowadays though, I tend to root for the teams with my favorite players.
Just for the sake of accuracy, Rocky Bleier played his entire 11-year NFL career with the Stillers. But otherwise, cool story.

You're right. I was actually thinking of Brian Piccolo who teamed up with Sayers. I did like Bleier as well since he played in the NFL even after sustaining some severe war wounds in Vietnam. I thought of him as a hero.

Also a Commie fan, since 1982. Still bust out my Redskin starter coat from time to time when outside playing with the kidos in the winter. Got that baby in 1991!

Chiefs. Started in the early 70’s. Len Dawson was still QB. Most of the early greats were still playing.

Then, major suckage. For decades.

Now, I reap the rewards. And all the hatred. It’s glorious.
Always have been Raider nemesis going back to Christian Okaye and Marty Schottenheimer days.

I grew up a Bengals fan and still root for them. For better or worse, I have adopted the Colts starting when they moved here .

Used to, but don't hate the Raiders. The games, and division are more exciting when the Raiders are good.

I Remember Ken Stabler and Jim Plunkett. And Marcus Allen and Bo Jackson. And Cliff Branch and Dave Casper. Hated getting trounced by those teams.

The worm turned, but the games are more exciting when both teams are good.

The West, in general, was supposed to be down this year. IT’s shown to better than advertised. Not great, but next year....

Steelers
first exposure to NFL football as a 7 year old and who was on top at the time? Pittsburgh.
Stuck ever since. If you survived the 80's as a Steeler fan you're most definitely a die hard fan. Tough decade.
This right here.
