Who is "your" guy?

Dude...............127 Football coaches missed on that ultratalented jump cut.....I am not saying you are wrong. However, this exact situation you are explaining is exactly what hindsight bias is....nothing wrong with it or it isn't bad, it just is what it is

They didn't miss. They either didn't see him or they saw he was 160 lbs. Kinda like Jordan Canzeri. Watch Canzeri's HS video and tell me he shouldn't have been more highly recruited.

Akrum's HS football program was new or something. Don't remember who handled his recruitment but it is an odd story. ISM from same school with similar skill set. Cut from the same cloth.

Josh Jackson. I thought he was a stud as a true freshman and couldn't figure out why everyone talked about Manny rather than this guy.

Thought Manny was going to be a monster this year, but turns out that Jackson is that guy. Earned himself a lot of money in the future. Looked a little skinny and not a good enough tackler in years past, but looks like he's put on some weight and shored up some weaknesses.

I understand that, but what you explained is exactly what hindsight bias. I look at a bunch of HS highlight videos and get excited, however; only focus on the ones I am correct on......hence the term hindsight bias.

I agree, but (I'm going to sound like a douche here) I usually have a pretty good eye for rb's and I don't usually get that excited about high school recruits in general. Wadley I just remember because he was a 2 star and I happened to watch his film expecting him to look like a 2 star. His talent jumped out right away though. Of course there have been plenty of players at other positions that I have been excited about that ended up being nothing. I still can't believe David Cato wasn't a first team all american.

I agree plus I think Iowa is getting back to being loaded with NFL players.

I'm going to list all the NFL players on this roster right now:

- Stanley - drafted (possible 1st rounder... no shit)
- Wadley - drafted
- Butler - signed
- Young - signed?
- Kelly-Martin - signed?
- Kulick - signed
- Ross - signed? - love this guy
- Vandeberg - signed
- Easley - signed
- ISM - drafted/signed
- Fant - drafted
- Hockenson - drafted
- A. Jackson - drafted
- Welsh - drafted
- Daniels - drafted
- Wirfs - drafted
- AJE - 1st rounder
- Hesse - signed?
- Nelson - signed
- Bazata - signed?
- Reiff - signed?
- Lattimore - ?
- Jewell - 2nd round?
- Neimann - signed?
- Bower - ?
- Jackson - drafted
- Rugumba - drafted/signed
- Hankins - drafted/signed
- Snyder - drafted/signed
- Hooker - drafted
- Recinos - signed

I think damn near every player on this squad will at least get a sniff at the league.

We are a talented football team and we will finish strong.

I like where your head's at. Wadley is the player that I stand up and watch, when he gets the ball. Every touch is a potential highlight reel.

Easley, Fant, and ISM are fun to watch.

On defense... The Outlaw (of course). AJE. Really like watching Snyder, especially his his comeback and the dude like to drop the HAMMER.

I thought Cato was gonna be a stud, too. Him and Solomon Warfield.

That kid from Newton!!! That’s what I yell every time Easley catches a pass. Can’t Help it, my home town. Last kid from Newton to score a touchdown for the Hawks was probably Gary Simpson in the 60’s. Proud of both of them!! Go Hawks

I've been to 2 home games this year and both times I have been especially taken with the play of Neiman tackles all over the field, from sideline to sideline. He's got a great motor. New guy is Easley. Gutsy player and doesn't seem to be one bit intimidated by the B1G environment.

I'm on the same bandwagon as alot of you, I do not have a clear cut favorite.

Offense: Have to say (not in any specific order) Mr. Wadley, Stanley, Vandeberg, Fant & of course Easley.

Defense: More of the same the Outlaw, AJ, J. Jackson, Neiman & Snyder.

ST. I would say everyone except whoever our punter is on game day.

To me it would probably have to be Fant and Hooker. Fant is just a SO and still has a LONG way to go in his development ... and yet he's already changing how opposing Ds defend the Hawks. That is an x-factor if I've ever seen one.

Hooker gets the nod because, not only does he have a knack for seemingly always being around the ball, but he has tremendous ball skills. For a point of contrast - Taylor has seen a ton of reps but only has 1 career interception. Hooker has only seen starter-level snaps since the North Texas game and he's already had a few near-picks, along with 1 actual pick. Given Hooker's high school background, where he had 11 INTs alone as just a senior .... it suggests to me that he will be a great ball-hawking safety for us!

For me it is Easley on offense, because I knew his parents back about the time he was born and the older boy, Matthew, needed corrective glasses as a toddler.

On Defense, the Outlaw is the MAN, and most of my family went to Luther College, but I find myself looking to see if AJ is on the field before the snap. Like others have said, he stayed with the Hawks even though higher profile teams wanted him.
