After Iowa loses to Nebraska next week, I think it's time Iowa move in a different direction. IF we don't then I fear we will go the way of 1999-2000 before/when a change is made. I've suggested Kerry Cooks and I think it'd be a good hire. Some though suggest going outside of the Hawkeye family.

I put together a list of people that we know would be interested. I also included Dave Aranda because I think he'd be the best fit from the "outside". Now with that said, who else would there be?

Bilema could be interesting because while he is struggling at Arkansas, he knows how to win in the B1G.

Whoever can get quarterbacks, OL, RB, and receivers who are faster than their grandparents. So to sum up, whichever guy can bring in an offense. And who won't touch gum or pocket notebooks with a 10-foot pole. BUT, the gum-chewing notetaker will be back for his 19th season.

Seriously, Bob Diaco is an option and people voted for him. Must be Nebraska lurkers. PSU had 500 yards at half against Nebraska. Bielema is the only guy on the list worth consideration. Maybe Joe Rudolph.

None of those guys on that list really excite me. Someone was on here earlier this week touting jim leonhard and i think that would be an interesting possibly. Guy is young, played 10 yrs in the league and has wiscys d playing lights out. I would love for the hawks to switch over to the 3-4

He likely will be available.

These are not the only options. Thats not how a job this big works.

Theres plenty of young guys out there who are hungry you just have to get out and find them.

Barta needs to go first. Hes KFs bitch.

normally? yes. at iowa? bwahahahahaha

Phase 1) obligatory committee
Phase 2) ?
Phase 3) nepotism

the last part of your post is dead on.

SOMEONE WHO CAN FREAKIN’ RECRUIT!!! SOMEONE WHO CAN WIN SOME RECRUITING BATTLES CONSISTENTLY AGAINST TEAMS BESIDES BUFFALO, TOLEDO OR WESTERN ILLINOIS!!!

Didn't we just have this thread last week? We lost this game because of recruiting? Lol...

Ultimately.... take a chance at lower initial $$$ with a younger, successful in smaller conference and looking to prove themselves at the next level type.

It may fail...but that's where the higher upside lives. Give a three year contract with great incentives and a low buyout. They win big, they get rewarded.

I have no further interest in what the Ferentz family has on tap. But that's been gone for me for a few years. 2015 did not fool me.

Dan Mac Daddy MaaaaaCarney, but not until KF takes us to the "Hawkeyes smelk the roses" in 2019!

Bob Stoops... his retirement went down kinda strange. Think a year off would have him ready to come back?

I seriously don't know why so many people brush off this possibility. SO MANY coaches have taken some time off and then come back, many at a less intense program and many with a lot of success. It seems that Iowa would be a great fit. That is if Florida doesn't lure him out of retirement first.

Could you even imagine what it would be like to hire Stoops? The program would almost instantly be taken to the next level. He could sleep though this next recruiting season and bring in more talent than KF ever did. 5 losses was considered a horrible season for him at Okla, while a 7-5 season gives KF a frickin bonus. The new attitude around the football program would be unreal.

Doesn't hurt to dream.

More stupid hyperbole. Yeah, he could sleep through it, lol. And I doubt recruiting would improve that much. He might have some Texas connections that may produce a few, but with that you're risking other problems. Oh, and 7-5 does not get KF a bonus. He has to win 8. Try to know what you're talking about every now and then. https://projects.newsday.com/college-football-coaches-salaries-contracts/kirk-ferentz/

Be careful running a successful coach out of town. You could very well end up with a Darrell Hazell who takes your 7 win talent and turns it into 3 wins for multiple years. Unlike the nfl, there is no prize for tanking in college.

Coming from a Purdue alum who saw 7-8 win averages under Tiller, and 2-3 under Hazell.

Your point was that you exaggerate and lie? Glad we cleared that up as well.

Ok, you win, the fact that we give a dude who already makes $4.5/yr a bonus for winning 8 games is awesome, because that is clearly going above and beyond what he should already expect of himself and the program. Because of that, there is no way we would want Bob Stoops to coach this team.
