I say either K Welch or even someone who isn’t projected to start AKA ...Wade or Colebert (sp)? Maybe even little brother Niemann? Should be interesting battle to the end of practice and the start of the season.. I would like to see some viciousness and speed/quickness plugging the holes and some nifty backers on the outside who can drop in cover and intercept and take it to the house on every play.. ok every other play :)

Amani Jones with Niemann a close second. By November J McDonald will be getting reps. Two guys to keep your eye on are B Wade and D Colbert.

For some crazy reason I think your prognostication will be reversed. I love Jones but Niemann had some flashes on special teams last year that opened my eyes. I just have hunch.

I am rooting for Welch. He has a great combination of size and athleticism. I hope he can pick up the schemes quickly.
And I think Jones is going to make some highlight hits.

It had better be the guy in the middle or something is wrong.

Amani Jones will be an unstoppable machine. On the low I think we might have some really good LB's waiting in the wings right now. The will competition gives me the sense that we have 3 good LB's competing for it.

This ....... then add Niemann and Hockaday and you have the top four. Not sure why you don’t hear much on Hockaday, unless he can’t shake the injury bug.

I think Jones as well....But, I am really interested to see how McDonald does as well. I assume special teams with a chance to earn some time later in the year.

I am not sure you will see one using Iowa's scheme. That is why we keep hearing about the "viper" back, which means we will be in the nickel often hopefully will a "Sanders-type" safety.
