That would probably be the guy who drives it to the hole the most. And I'm wondering who that person is?

Aaron White was that guy for many a year. I see Pete shooting a lot. Does he take it to the rim more?

Last year the most fouled were Utey and Jok. Then, Mike and Sapp and Woody. They're mostly gone.

Uhl and surprisingly, Wagner, were the next highest. Baer, only 13 attempts. He may need to up that A LOT.

I see players like Moss perhaps getting their chances or Cook.

I expect Jok to get fouled the most because he'll be on the floor and trying to score the most, as well as having more ball handling responsibilities. Cook next because he doesn't mind contact, has a physical game, defenders are often going to have to foul him to stop him because of his physical abilities, and he's going to get the minutes for all this to add up in total fouls committed against him. CW will be up there as well in drawing fouls from being a primary ball handler and playmaker.

I want to say Cook, but the ball is going to find Peter so often, I think he leads going to the line.

See, Cook is an obvious choice. But, what we may, MAY, be missing is he's a freshman and may be prone to fouling and not being on the floor as much as we'd hope. It may not be the case, but teams would be smart to go at him until he shows his wares.

Williams is a good choice. Ball in his hands a lot with a real ability to drive.

Baer better get there a lot. A lot. He's active and seemingly headed for big minutes.

I guess what I'm digging for is who will be the most aggressive scorers, even though fouls can happen on the boards.

Ok, forgetting fouls on put backs. Aggressive scorers. I think Jok is going to drive more. Cook seems so willing to go into contact. Moss breaks defenses down. I'll say those three as Williams is pretty unselfish and will look to pass first, and Wagner just won't have the scorer's mentality either.

Won't tell just by counting how many times a guy shoots free throws as that will, imo, be Cook and Wagner. But Aggressive scorers? Jok, Cook, Moss. And toss a possible in Baer into the mix...with the usual, he just does things, reason.

By the way, one thing that intrigues me so much about Garza is how many fouls he drew in AAU ball. Looks like another guy that knows how to work a defender much like White.

That all makes sense....hawksense. I like the thought process and this seems logical to me. That said, we know things don't always work out the way we think they will. All in all this topic makes for some good discussion.

I wouldn't rule out another post player as drawing some fouls. A Pemsl sort of player. I just have a feeling.

The correct answer is our opponents. We will have a bunch of freshman on the floor and just like the NBA they won't get any calls from league refs.

The fact we don't have any strong defenders returning means we will likely be in zone much of every game which might help a little bit.

Cook and Wagner because both will be forced to prove they can score from the line. And IMHO they will lead team in "and 1's" because they are both strong enough to finish through contact.

I will be REALLY surprised if Wagner goes to the line that much. He doesn't appear, right now, to be an offensive minded player. That may have all changed with coaching him up and a stronger confidence level. He'd be a long way down on the scoring food chain for me.

So, please, prove me REALLY wrong.

Baer. He will be much more aggressive this year going to the hoop and drawing the foul.

Two years ago White and Gabe took over half of Iowa's free throws. I'll go with Cook and Wagner.

White was the master at taking a weak-to-no call foul, and flopping it into some free throws. Like it or not, that was his "game"... I did not realize that Gabe went to the line that much to be 2nd. But he was White's roomy. Learn from the master.

I can see Cook & Wagner getting a lot of calls, if the whistle is blown. Hope they are working on those free throws. Same with CW. He has the skills to drive and finish. There will be some fouls there for certain.

He was probably better at that than anyone else I've ever watched at the college level. People hated him for it but it was a skill he perfected.
