Congrats MAGA, what policies are you the most excited about Trump implementing?

OK, please don't take this personally, because it's intended in good humor. But you know what i'm looking forward to?

I think the nation's celebration of its 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026 just got a whole heck of a lot more fun. Fewer teach-ins, more fireworks.

Very intrigued by the Dept of Efficiency. Something like this is long overdue. Opening up access to energy and reducing costs on energy will be big for the economy again.

Hopefully law enforcement feels supported and crime goes down. That’s more so on state officials but there’s been no support from the top.
We are leaders in the production of energy. Energy costs are about as low domestically as producers will allow.

You guys just don’t do humor at all. Teach ins?
The celebration will turn into a months long ego stroke for Trump.

dude, have you actually seen the 250th anniversary plans? i wasn't joking about the teach ins (though i don't know that they call them quite by that name).

As to the month's long part, i suspect it'll be more like a few years back when they had all the planes fly over the mall, which was pretty cool. and the people who came to town seemed to like it before the fireworks.

(In all seriousness, the reason you haven't heard nearly as much about 250 as we all did when 200 rolled around is that the ****ing politicians that are running the commission have spent the last five years in a pissing match about control of donations and have gotten pretty much nothing done. ****weeds. There is no way this should have been left to them.)

What energy access needs to happen? How will energy costs be reduced? Crime is way down since Trump.

As a Dem, I'm pretty disappointed this morning. On the other hand, I'm sure many of you are thrilled. So what are you most excited to see happen during the Trump administration?

Not MAGA, and there are a LOT of things I'm not happy with that might be coming from Trump, and hope that they don't come to be.

But if you ask what exact policy/actions from his administration I would be looking forward to, there are a couple maybe.
- Again ending this inexplicable Obama/Biden fixation with playing footsie with Iran. I expect/hope Trump again takes a hard position against Iran, and support's Israel more unequivocally than the current administration
- Hopefully appointing young replacements for Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito
- Hopefully roll back some of the DEI initiatives in agencies and get them focused back on their actual missions
- The return of border enforcement

He actually doesn't have all that many initiatives or policies that I care about. It's more about what he WON'T do honestly.
- Won't try to expand the Supreme Court
- Won't try to end the filibuster - well, he might actually try, as he did before, but I'm counting on the republicans to refuse
- Won't try to eliminate the Electoral College, add DC/PR or whatever schemes to increase Democratic leverage
- Won't forgive student debt
- Won't push the Green New Deal

The most encouraging potential outcomes have nothing to do with Trump policies themselves, but the hope that this is the nail in the coffin of the wildly unpopular fruits of 2020 or so - DEI and Antiracism, gender transitions for minors, defunding/deemphasizing policing, decriminalizing of theft and quality of life crimes, push for censorship and rolling back the first amendment, anti-capitalism, hypersensitivity, etc.

To be clear, I by no means believe that the roughly 50% of the country that vote democrat believe in all of that, because I clearly don't. Those are all way, way, minority views. But people with that agenda captured the leadership of virtually all institutions - media, education, corporate. entertainment, etc. The best thing to come out of this, and there are signs of it already happening, is that stakeholders at these institutions roll back their obsession and dedication to these wildly unpopular and destructive premises l and get back to their individual missions.

Trump never takes second billing to anyone or anything.
