Who's number 1

I just got back from the event. The only kid that talked to the staff was Bo. The whole staff circled him like a a bunch of hyenas. Iowa is definitely all in on him.
What do you mean he was the only kid that talked to the staff?? Did they try to approach other kids and they ran away? Was Taylor there? Was he getting swamped by the wrestlers begging to be on his team??? Would have been nice to have some contact with Jax. I was impressed with the 150 from NJ who is only 16 and committed to Virginia tech.

I think Bo, Jax and Dom Munaretto were probably the only recruitable athletes there right? Everyone else is either committed or too young. Virginia Tech had 5 recruits in this event. Two guys that stood out to me were Jude Correa and Sergio Vega.

113 - Villasenor (SO) vs Munaretto (Jr. uncommitted)
126- Knox (Cornell) vs Seidel (VT)
132 - Forrest (Jr. uncommitted) vs Mendoza (Mizzou)
138- Vega (Cornell) vs Gorman (VT)
144- Basset (Jr. uncommiteed) vs Zepeda (NCSt)
150 - James (VT) vs Gaj (VT) vs Shaw (tOSU)
157- Robideau (OKSt) vs Miller (SO)
165/175- Lockett (OKSt) vs Burton (VT)
200- Ziola (Nebby) vs Posada (Stanford)
HWT- Correa (UMich) vs Sahakian (UMich)

Beautiful campus. Not too far from the kids on the east coast. A chance to be a winner while not on a big ten team. And some great results recently. Results seem to matter.
Good results, not sure about great results. They do go all out on the visits. I remember they had a Ferrari for Angelo to drive and get pictures in during his visit. We just don’t do corny shit like that, but I guess I’m not looking at from a teenagers point of view. Also, their head coach looks like Cael’s twin. 😉

Damn, both Bo and Jax look great. Not gonna lie it stung a bit when the announcer was going over Jax’s previous WNO opponents and he mentioned Jesuroga. How ridiculous would this year’s team be if Nate was a Hawk? Ugh, what could’ve been…………….
Who would of dreamed a top 5 pfp wrestler from Iowa, already committed to us, would quit the sport before he even finished high school.🤯

I suppose that's Tom's fault Jesuroga quit. Tom did everything right in getting Nate to "commit".

it's not his fault. It's just another what if in a long list going back years. the other jewel of that class being part timer is another example. PSU also has misses. They just recruit more to make up for the misses.

I feel like his loses to forest broke him somehow
He obviously was someone who had a real talent for a sport, but really didn’t like the sport. When someone gets a little burnt out or injured, they take some time off, and always feel rejuvenated and find themselves missing the sport they wanted a break from. He actually ran away from the sport for good after taking a break. It was our misfortune to have landed a top 5 pfp talent who flat out quit the sport before finishing high school. Has this ever happened before in wrestling??? He must really not like wrestling to throw away a free college education and a bag of NiL money so he could quit wrestling.

Did Jesuroga ever become a Navy Seal? I read somewhere that was his post-wrestling goal.
