Thank you amigo. Iowa is the gold standard of wrestling, and always will be. At every National's I've been to, the Iowa people are great. True wrestling fans and love the sport.
There is a little clique, unfortunately, that has taken over McAndrew's board, with his consent, even more unfortunately. Before that happened, it was a great board with free flowing discourse on the great sport of wrestling. As soon as that board regains it's balance and freedom, it will once again be a good board for wrestling. The ones holding the grudges, are a tiny percentage of the overall board, but since they all pile on, it seems like more than it really is. Lots of excellent posters on BWI, like Cowbell Man, who I have had conversations with, and knows wrestling very well, and a few others.
The clique, right now, has taken over there. Won't be forever.
You were posting here 5 seconds after the Teasdale announcement, but I'm sure your intentions were noble and not to troll, and coming over here and calling someone out and telling them to get over it makes me think that you don't realize where you are.
I love it when fans of other schools get on here and add input but Penn State fans (not all but many) have been flooding this board with garbage for awhile now and that is something you don't see Iowa fans doing over on BWI. Not a good look on your team's part.
I've seen you go overboard imo , but I do agree that's part of the clique stuff . But I do believe you love this sport and are a big psu fan. And you respect Iowa.
I'm a huge fan of Dan Gable. There will never be another one because he was the first. It's like Babe Ruth retiring and starting coaching and winning the most championships of any manager in MLB history .
Sanderson can get to were he is a fair comparison to Gable, but Dan was their first. JMO.
Tell you the truth, I wait for the season to see how things are going and my interest goes up closer to the ncaas. And my interest is up because of penn state's success. I do love the sport but I'm much more of a novice fan than most here.
Right now you have penn state having great success . Iowa in wrestling is like the Yankees in baseball . They have the most storied history in the sport. PSU imo is maybe more like the Patriots, most of their success is recent , occurring in the last seven years.
That leads to two passionate fans based that will butt heads. I'm okay with that , but Id personally try to get along .
I love Gable. Always have, always will. Since I wasn't a Hawk fan PER SE, I also loved Iowa State as a kid. My wrestling idol is the Gentle Giant, the late, and truly great Chris Taylor. I went up to Chris as a child and got an autograph, and he was as kind and gracious off the mat as could be, with that giant robe, and the "I" cyclone logo. When Chris passed away, I cried.

BTW...Gilman wrestled like crap in a match, kudos to Cruz. Gilman credited him for knocking him off his game...especially his strength. But then Gilman took it to Dance the next round the Picc again. Gilman had those type of matches once or twice a season.

I sat next to an older fella at ncaa a couple of years ago, a real gentleman. I suspect most psu fans are decent. There are some great ones here.
Unfortunately there are a handful of immature psu posters who genuinely seem to make it their mission to teardown Iowa wrestling and Iowa in general. I'm not a shrink, but i wonder if they have other issues going on in their lives.

It's like a horror movie...they think the main monster (Iowa) is dead after being shot multiple times and falling into the lake but since there is no body, they have to convince themselves.
My group of 4 (PSU fans) had a table in the Bud Light Zone --- we gladly shared our space with a group of Hawkeye fans and their boys --- fun to see kids enjoying the sport!

Maybe it is just me but there was on score in the first period 3 mins of wrestling. Than Gilman rode him for all the 2nd period. Know it is hindsight but If I was the coach I have take down if can't get away its overtime I mean jesss couldn't get a td in 3 mins just saying...............

If you had any sack what so ever, you would have engaged in a wrestling discussion with me, WITHOUT trying to judge, based on what 7 or 8, middle aged bullies with beer bellies, gang up to say, on a MESSAGE BOARD. You would have sent a pm(Like Chief and I did, like Amalone and I did, etc) and gotten to know me, and then you wouldn't have tried to pile on.
