I believe Eric Sanders would disagree with you on this.People in other states don't seem to do this. Heck, in Texas, people will actually get over for you. It's great.

^^^^^+1What pisses me off is those a-holes who pass me when there's a long line of traffic and I'm just giving the guy in front of me a couple of car lengths of space. People behind seem to think they should shoe-horn into that space so they can be one car ahead of where they were before. Barring that they get right on my bumper like, if I close that gap, traffic will magically clear.
Zipper merge is proper if there are two lanes on an on ramp that turn into one that merges into the interstate. That is provided for in the design of the ramp. Ankeny on ramp at 1st street heading southbound is an example. Impromptu "zipper merges" on the interstate at construction/accident sites are just the result of DBs being DBs thinking their time is more valuable than everyone else's.Is zipper merge a real term? Or just something your family uses?
Never through Atlanta. Only major cities really have been Chicago, Minneapolis, Kansas City. I'm not quite sure that changes what I said though, or is Atlanta the sole place that I can learn how to and how to not safely drive?Never driven through Atlanta, huh?
Noone here has any idea what you're talking about. Kph? Meters? In Germany we have folks that like to blink their lights at you to get the f*&k out of the way on the autobahn. Pretty intimidating for autobahn newbies when they're overtaking you by 60-80 kph and don't hit their brakes till they're about 50 meters behind you.
"Kph" is the acronym for "Krauts Per Hour" and refers to the frequency with which you are passed by people who live in that country. "Meters" are like asteroids, only smaller.Noone here has any idea what you're talking about. Kph? Meters?

This bothers me too; but, I have experienced it far more frequently in other states than I ever did in Iowa.
Your missing the fun then. Sometimes on the connector the traffic is averaging about 80 with cars only a few feet apart.Every time I've driven on the interstates in and around Atlanta, no one was speeding. We were all crawling along at about 3 mph.
Anyone else experience this?
Man, people in this state get pissy when you want to pass them. Most speed up, and take it real personally.
I don't get it.
Why does being passed hurt your feelings? Creates an unsafe situation too when they all speed up when you are trying to get around them.
People in other states don't seem to do this. Heck, in Texas, people will actually get over for you. It's great.
Not, Iowans. PASS ME WILL YOU!! YOU WILL PAY!!
Drive in South Carolina .
Gotta agree, we were on i-95 a few years ago and I was going about 85 and people were passing me like I wasn't moving. I could not believe how fast some of those people drive in that state!
In Iowa the big issue with me is the truckers who just merge without noticing the cars. They get side by side and drive 73 on the interstate. I realize they have a job to do, but don't slow down traffic because you can't speed up. If your in the "left lane" you should drive fast enough to get around the cars and then get over. People who park it in the left lane tick me off!
