Obama wanted a government option for healthcare. He gave that up from Republican option. He bent over backwards in an attempt to make it bipartisan. Republicans said no. Democrats moved halfway on the border bill. Trump blew it up.

So bring another option to the table. Face it, the GOP never wanted to fix it. They wanted it to fail so they could blame it on the Dems. That's their only play when they aren't in power.
I was replying to the post that stated Democrats do not compromise. That border bill was a direct example of a Republican sabotaging a bipartisan compromise.
Biden gave him the issue to run on. Assuming the facts and figures are true on border crossings the fact is this could have happened anytime he wanted it to.
There was really no need ro bring another “option” to the table as Trump’s (now implemented) executive orders are going a long way towards fixing the issue. Such as, reimplementing “Remain in Mexico” policy, only accepting legitimate asylum claims, and letting border patrol agents do their jobs.
I’m not going to convince you but there’s a difference between saying, “I’m going to create high paying jobs” and saying “I was robbed of the election” and “stop the steal” to a very high strung protest crowd. The last example led to a protest in which people were killed.
Take the Tuberville fiasco, the Dems could do an action like this, any senator can block, but the Dems want the govt to work, they dont want to be petty like Tommy boy who has to be the most dumb as a brick senator I have ever heard talk. Unfortunately Dems play by the rules, most act too nice, etc. I would rather politics be played out that way. But the old days of Tip O'neill and Repubs disagreeing but getting along enough to get work done is long gone. The REpubs lie and dont keep their promises etc. In Trumps first term you could see the honorable and decent REpubs in Congress just retire rather than be apart of his bullshit

I think Biden handled it horribly. But I believe his biggest fault was being out of touch due to his mental incapacities and believing Congress would do their jobs and come to the table as adults. I also believe Biden's handlers should have done a better job of describing to him what a problem the American people thought immigration was. I do believe that he should have done more to fix the problem, but at the end of the day, it was in the GOP's best interests for immigration to become a crisis so they could get elected, and it worked. Immigration has been used as a political ploy by both sides, but the GOP has used it in a much more divisive and destructive way, in my opinion.
