Trump was impeached (1st time) because he withheld Congressionally approved US military aid to Ukraine unless Zelensky provided dirt on his political opponent, Biden.
Because he exemplifies a real leader, thus shining light on how pathetic and fake their definition of that term is.
Because Trump told them that the US has given Ukraine 350b (not true) and that European countries would be paid back but not the US. Couple that with them being conditioned to be looking for waste whether it truly is waste or not and being conditioned to switch positions with their leaders instead of of having their own stakes out positions and you have the modern maga.
Consider how they are okay with Elon accessing government systems and believing Musk's made up talking points about waste. As those are quickly disproven they are able to compartmentalize the reality into a lock box versus the desired message of their leaders.

Because Russia has something big on Trump. So Trump tries to help Russia out in whatever way he can. And all the Maga go along with him. Its fairly simple.

Yeah, that's my impression... it's such weak sauce. I had the thought that this is all halfway owed to the fact that so much of the left -- and people with a moral conscious in general -- got behind Zelensky and Ukraine in their David vs Goliath battle against Russia. It was the mere fact that the left and "mainstream" America liked something that triggered MAGA. (this reasoning, of course, is stupid beyond words)
But yeah, I'm not seeing the big arguments against Zelensky's character or conduct. I was hoping some people on the right would elucidate this for me.
Because Putin pays for most of their elections. Elon gave a lot of money, but not all of it. There's a reason Republicans don't want anyone knowing where the money came from. Do you really think Russia quit paying them once the NRA got busted for laundering money from Russia to candidates?
I am now fully convinced that Citizens United is the single worst Supreme Court decision in the history of the United States and that includes the Dred Scott decision and Plessy v. Ferguson. Legalized bribery dismantled the Constitution. You can't have a representative Democracy if the people who make decisions are for sale to the highest bidder, private interests or foreign parties.
Democrats better get serious about attacking this shit going forward. I don't want people like Bezos owning the Post, I don't want people like Elon owning media playforms and being able to buy his way into positions of political power.
This is way too much power for individual actors to wield. Easy unpopular stuff with the public. Attack from that angle relentlessly.
Don't hate Ukraine nor their President, they are in an unfortunate spot, but they have to be realistic about where they are...they want to liberate themselves and get all of their land back. Just not going to happen.

It has been my number one issue since it happened. In 2015 I was complaining about it because I knew this would be the end result, what we are seeing today. My modern language would be more directed towards public funding of elections.
I'm sure it will be as groundbreaking as doge findings so far... in that it isn't ground breaking at all and been a giant waste of money.

They did ,unless of course you want boots on the ground to protect them. I don't want my grandkids putting their life on the line for another country. Especially one that has been stealing our tax dollars.

Even if you believe we need to disengage. Even if you believe Ukraine needs to make major concessions so the war can end. This is not the way it’s done. It was ugly and foolish. It makes us look terrible. It was, in short, disgraceful.
