Why is Minnesota sporting black uniforms?

My wife and I are debating the color. She says black and I say dark graphite or really dark olive green, b/c they're distinctly lighter than the shoes.

In my book, any program that constantly changes uni's has an identity problem. It screams look at me for all the wrong reasons.
Anthracite is a type of coal, also known as "hard coal", which is nearly pure carbon and is quite black. However, google tells me the color "anthracite" is a near-black, deep gray. In addition to this odd color choice, the collar areas on the unis appeared to be a weird off-maroon color. Regardless, the goofs played their normal game...bad enough to lose, with just enough late-game scoring to keep hopes alive for their hapless fans.
I've heard anthracite is the true color of mourning.

You do know that Minn is just a few hicks away from being Neb right? Most of the dorkiest/dumbest people I've met are from your state. They shouldn't let you people leave the state!
