Why is Sanders being yelled at to say, "Black"?

Black people hear all this talk about free stuff and they want to make sure they get more of it than others as is tradition.

Is "African American" not appropriate anymore? And now he has to talk about reparations to be taken seriously by the Afric....err....black community.

Why aren't Hillary's feet being held to the fire like this? How has she built up cred? It dang sure isn't her or her husbands support of jailing blacks 10-1.

That was one of the most odd interactions I've ever seen.

And I lived in NJ for over 20 years!

So honestly where did all this "African-American" crap originate? They have always been black to me. Honestly I never saw anything wrong with calling them "coloreds"...the NAACP certainly doesn't mind.

I'm no Sanders fan, but I loved the direct and honest way he addressed the question/comment. Hillary would have spewed some vague drivel and really said nothing.

Sanders argued that it’s not just black people suffering, it’s Latinos and, in some poor rural areas, white people too.

Only whites in rural areas? Jeez, this guy really is out of touch.

Is that how you took it? Really? Lol...nah.

Just in case...you may want to read it again and figure it out. Just in case you weren't kidding...but I'm sure you were.

Serious answer, I think a few years ago younger folks decided they wanted to be called black. Somehow that is empowering.

Please splain it.

Blacks and Latinos everywhere.

Whites are suffering mostly in the rural areas.

Not ONLY whites are suffering in rural areas.

In other words, for the most part, whites in the suburbs and cities are making out OK according to the economic numbers.

Thanks. But your last sentence isn't correct. It's true that there are more poor whites that are in rural areas (57% of rural poor) but there are plenty of poor urban whites as well (28% of urban poor). No need to use "rural" in front of white. That's leaving out millions of people.

Mark me down as a huge fan of Dr. Martin Luther King. I have the same dream as him.

This is wrong in every way:
