His last statement is great. You put yourself in that position, asshole. You started the problem. You continued the problem to the point of police involvement. And then you fought against the police. But, it's their doing. They're at fault. What a POS.

No. Just amazed that a guy can assault cops like that and not end up dead. That is why I phrased it as a question. I probably should have went with how instead of why in my title.

Good God ... he was sitting off by himself; everyone seems to know each other; Why fricking bother? The young man has his reasons for not complying. Whatever they are, they should be respected. Since this was a school board meeting, it is likely that the animosity was sparked by something else ... something that has nothing to do with mask wearing.
Police involvement over someone who does not wear a mask is ludicrous. This is a bizarre use of public resources. This should be a 100% voluntary thing, enforced by social pressure and only by those who want the responsibility for such nonsense.
Now there is going to be an arrest, he is going to fight it, lawyers will become involved, money will be spent, money will be lost in the process and in the end, the pandemic will fizzle out. along the way, something odd will take place that is completely unexpected ... such as the complainant being arrested in a gay whorehouse, or having kiddie porn on his/her laptop. This will not end well for anyone involved. Too many weird people were in that room and too much ill-will is being generated. Even the two cops will be second-guessed from here to Sunday and the police department itself will have to set up workshops on how to arrest mask scofflaws.

It seems as though some are trying to make this racial...but it isn't necessarily. Had the resister put his hands on one of the officer's weapons and/or produced a weapon of his own while actively resisting then regardless of his race, he would be facing deadly force in response to neutralize that threat. And that would be perfectly justified for the LEO's to respond in kind.
In this case, the guy was being a real jerk and tasing him would not be out of line IMO, but he was just below the threshold of having deadly force applied to him...despite his skin color.

You did watch the video.. Especially where the criminal resists arrest and shoves He smaller officer. I can’t tell precisely but the officer than appears to draw a taser.
Seems like a real parallel to some of the events we have seen.
Obviously as we have been told comply with the police no matter how silly we consider their requests.
So, are you saying they should have killed the guy? Or, the cops who have killed people that are being charged and investigated and put on a national stage shouldn’t be killing unarmed people...as pretty much everyone agrees with as well as fellow cops?
Or, are you acknowledging that these cops did a good job at showing restraint, and therefore, most cops are good at doing their jobs peacefully?
They should have given him 10s to mask up or leave.
Hit "10" and tase him. Keep tasing him until he leaves or until he's incapacitated and you can drag him out into the parking lot and leave him there.
Everyone else in the room is put at risk while he plays his silly game. As well as being inconvenienced by the wasted time.
