Fundamental tackling and discipline.

I just watched Jonathan Taylor's highlights and I've NEVER seen a highlight with so many missed tackles.

Now did he cause some of them? Sure! But the majority were flat out terrible attempts at tackling.

Let's face it, they have played some bad teams which have bad players which have bad fundamentals. He's good, but his stats are overinflated due to their schedule.

We will stop this kid and we WILL WIN.

Go Hawks!

I notice that as well. We have to do a better job of squaring up, wrapping up and getting hats to the ball than some other teams have done, or it will not be a good day.

Not only will we win but Wisconsin will lose their remaining games and Iowa will be in the Big Ten Title game and will end up playing MSU and will revenge the loss and finish up 10-3 in route to bowl game.
Wisconsin will lose to Michigan and Minny will pull off upset, Iowa wins out and hold tie break over Wisconsin

I thought Northwestern was pretty even with Wisconsin when they played them. That was an ugly game. We had one of those turd KF games we have at least once a year against Northwestern otherwise I believe our Offense and D rank better than Northwesterns currently. Northwestern forced Wisconsin into passing the ball which led to turnovers. Wisconsin also forced Northwestern into passing which also led to turnovers. I will take Stanley and our receivers hands down over Thorson and his guys. what I'm saying is I think if we come out firing and score early like against Ohio St and keep the pressure on Wisconsin our D will force Wisconsin and the inconsistent Hornibrook into throwing the ball and we will create turnovers. Iowa enters this game with a huge advantage in the passing game something neither team has really had against the other. Wisconsin hasn't faced a QB like Stanley yet.

Forecast looks pretty crappy for tomorrow. Could hinder some of what you're talking about.

Weather tmrw has now shifted from 32-34 and rainy with 10-15mph winds earlier in the week to 35-38 w/8-10mph winds no precip. Weather shouldn't be a factor.

Taylor's a really, really good back. He's no Saquon Barkley but he does have deceptive top end speed. We'll need to hope our defensive line and linebackers can bow up and stop em without bringing down the safeties. You are right that he is a product of the competition he has faced and in my opinion, a product of a terrific offensive line. I have faith that this slugfest will be controlled by the Outlaw and we'll be able to limit their rushing attack enough to win.

I don't necessarily dispute what you're saying, but I'm guessing Wisconsin is better than some people give them credit for. Admittedly, though, the few Badger games I have glanced at this season about put me to sleep (much like some Iowa games have).

I think the biggest difference is Iowa's defense has faced Penn State and Ohio State. Wisconsin isn't going to scare them. This will be typical smash mouth football and whoever wins the battle of the trenches wins this game. Usually, when it comes down to that, Iowa does. However, Wisconsin is about a mirror image of Iowa's physicality, so it's about a wash.

The real question is, what Iowa offense shows up? Because I think the defense can stymie the Wisconsin offense. I have little doubt about that. It's really a question of the Iowa offense. Sure, Wisconsin has a good defense, but they aren't better than Penn State's or Ohio State's. Plus, they haven't played anyone this year. And yes, that does make a difference.

In short, I like Iowa's chances.

Especially if it gets windy. NATE the Great has the arm to drive a ball through the wind. Hornibrook throws like a left handed sissy Nancy.
