Why would Duggan go to Iowa?

I don't think Duggan will come. Stanley is here for two more years, we just added 4* petras and Mansell who is a dual threat QB with 4 years eligibility remaining, so I think Duggan will assume playing time at Iowa might be tough for a few years. Of course,he might like competition, but personally, I think he goes to Nebby. :(

Competition at any school he goes to will be very tough. Will probably depend on which coaching staff and offensive coordinator he feels most comfortable with. If it looks like someone else is locked in ahead of you though, it does make it tough to pick that school. These kids all want to play, as soon as possible.

Playing time at any P5 is going to be a battle. He is talented but hes not the level he can show up and be hands down the man at QB.
Its a matter of what he wants to gwt out of college athletics.
If he wants to be a Pro he better get lined up in a Pro style offense so he has less to learn at graduation.
If he wants to play, compete and win without being a pro it looks like NDSU would be a real good option.

Nebraska just signed the #9 Dual threat QB in the country, and signed the #6 Pro Style QB in the country last year that was higher than Mansell. If he's worried about competition, he's better of coming here than Nebby.

Not trying to troll but with QB Peyton Mansell in the ‘17 class and Spencer Petras in the ‘18 class plus the long tradition of Iowa preferring pro style QB’s, why would a dual threat QB prospect like Duggan come to UI?
So other top tier schools don’t sign a QB every year? Others don’t try to sign highly rated QB’s. Doesn’t make sense.

You guys act as if Iowa has never started a dual threat QB. Some of the best Kirk years have been with QBs that were either DT or at least very mobile.
Iowa does want a guys who can make all the throws and can survey the field, rather than a run first guy. However, it seems he may fit that mold fairly well.

When it starts with "not trying to troll.." it means pretty much that you are trolling. I would guess if you compared the recruiting rankings of the other QB's he's battle at Penn State, Nebr., or his other options Iowa would actually be a better choice of getting playing time. If you go to a P5 school to play QB, you are going to have competition to play.

Every great program has multiple high ranked QBs. If hes looking for a good program witj no competiton - good luck. Let it play out.

If he goes to any good FBS schools there are going to be good QB’s. If he ends up not going to Iowa it is not bc QB depth. I think our offense will take a step forward next year and hopefully defense can maintain-if that occurs it should be a good year which will lead to another uptick in recruiting......oh yeah and if we can punt the ball that doesn’t hit the long snapper 26 yards down the field SMH! That fresh looked pretty good when healthy (forgot bam?) or at least better

Hahaha good pick of ndsu, lol

I highly doubt he comes to Nebraska.... I’m not sure if we’re recruiting him anymore... Sounds like we’re onto a guy from California.... but who knows.

it's gonna be the same situation wherever he goes he's going to have to fight claw and work to get where he wants to go no one's going to hand him the job

Iowa's appeal is that if he can't cut it as QB, there's a good chance that he could still see the field and be utilized as a punter. Few other colleges have that opportunity

Because he thinks he is better than both of them and KF has had success with dual threat QBs such as Banks

Not saying he will go to Iowa but top level recruits don’t worry about the competition.

I can say that this guy is everything and more than you might realize . I know Frost will work him hard. I do not think he has NU in top three. Could change. I always thought Iowa doesn't look very hard at SW Iowa. But he is the best QB in the Metro area. A steal for whoever gets him.

Kirk would love to have a dual threat QB, and we have recruited similar QB's on many occasions. Think Brad Banks and Drew Tate. It just isn't easy landing a true dual threat QB. Everyone wants one. Duggan would be a great fit at Iowa.

Apparently Frost in CB yesterday to see Duggan and stop by Iowa Western.
I told the IW guys to remember Iowa City=Good....Lincoln=Bad. If only I had any actual influence. :(
