I have seen the musical a couple of times. Saw the movie tonight and thought they did about as good of a job as possible. Maybe 10 minutes too long, but pretty fantastic in my opinion.

I saw the Wizard of Oz thus I don't need to see any cheap knock offs.
It's one of those movies that's worth going to see in the theater.

I went and saw it yesterday also. I thought it was really good. I think the casting worked out great and it was visually awesome. Only down side is having to wait a year for the second part.
I plan on drinking a Bud Light before going, so I can just ease into it.

Yes. I was surprised to learn that when I went. Most of the good music is in the first act.
I knew it was in two parts, but I agree - most of the good sings and a lot of the better parts of the story all happen in the first half. Seems like the second part is going to have a lot more serious feel to it.
I read the producer is staying true to the story, so yeah…. I did read they are adding 2 new songs.
Saw it this afternoon. Thought it was really good. I think one of the new songs was the song one with Idina Mendel and Kristin Chenowith. Was surprised to see them and that was great.
I saw it today in IMAX. Outstanding job. Truly a great watch.
Apparently I need to ask how much peen you sucked on the way out of the theater.
They required proof of concept prior to attendance. I had to give head to the theater staff. My wife the women and I the men.
