Beat Purdue and Maryland and it could happen. Depends what happens above us really
If we can win these next 3 games (Rutgers, Purdue, Maryland) and get a couple more losses at the top, for sure!
Personally hope it doesn't happen until the last game of the season. Too much pressure on a team not used to having pressure on it.
Big 10 Conference history says no way. Not because we're Iowa, because there are just too many speed bumps and good teams. Could it happen? Sure. Will it happen? Unlikely.
We're fans. Our speculation has no bearing on the team.
But none of those #1's were from Iowa, which makes all the difference! IMO So excited for the next games!!
#19 ISU knocked off #1 Oklahoma. OK St beat #3 Kansas on Mon. Texas just beat #6 West Virginia and Georgetown just dropped #5 Xavier. That leaves #2 UNC, #4 Villanova, #7 Maryland, #8 (in the AP, unranked in the Coaches poll) SMU or the other #8 Texas A&M. Just sayin'. Ready or not folks, Iowa is getting some love and national recognition.

Hopefully the players are taking it one game at a time and are noticing all the ranked teams getting beat.
Bump!!! Or in other words, yesterday #11 MSU beat #7 Maryland; #16 Providence just beat #4 Villanova and Temple knocked off previously undefeated #8 SMU. That leaves just #2UNC and #8(in the AP poll) Texas A&M. Feels like its going to happen, so we might as well enjoy it.

Of course will need some help. Villanova lost today and hopefully KU loses to ISU tomorrow. NC plays at Louisville and at ND Feb. 1st and 6th
We should, but they are KU, so wouldn't be shocked if they are a spot ahead of us still.
Except that they lost by 19 at a bad OK St team's place and are now 16-3. Their record is similar to Iowa's and they've lost twice in the last three games. So if the voters are honest Iowa will jump them in the polls.
I know these polls are worthless, but people like to talk about them and it means that people know who your team is....unless you're a db announcer who "still isn't sure about Iowa".
