A lot of Republican politicians look really craven right now. Whatever Trump wants, they go along.
Surely that's just show, for some of them. Isn't it?
I mean I can see agreeing with Trump now. He may sweep Rs into control of both Houses of Congress, so they don't want to derail that possibility. Not to mention that if they buck him now, they know he may attack them personally.
So they kowtow.
But what happens when he wins? He's a lame duck. No elections for 2 years. Do they still need him? Are they still afraid of him?
What's keeping the majority R pols from reverting to pre-Trump form? Maybe not all at once, but inch by inch?
